This role connects client strategy, technical direction, and delivery execution, helping clients turn business priorities into practical technology strategies and ensuring our teams deliver against them with consistency and quality.

The Group Technology Director will build a deep understanding of each client’s business, technology ecosystem, priorities, and constraints, then use that context to provide proactive counsel across architecture, platforms, integrations, data, security, AI, and other emerging opportunities. Working closely with account leadership and teams across CG Life, this person will bring senior technology leadership into planning and decision-making early, create clear technical direction across workstreams, and remain accountable for the overall quality and success of technology work across the account.

Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Serve as the senior, client-facing technology partner for one major account or a portfolio of smaller accounts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business, technology ecosystem, priorities, and constraints.
  • Provide proactive technology counsel and represent the CG Life Technology team in senior client conversations.
  • Partner with Account Leadership to strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities, and support account growth.
  • Translate business priorities into technology strategies, roadmaps, and actionable recommendations.
  • Guide solution architecture and major decisions across platforms, integrations, data, security, and AI.
  • Establish consistent technical direction across projects and workstreams, ensuring proposed solutions are practical, scalable, compliant, and aligned with client objectives.
  • Engage early in project planning, scoping, estimation, and staffing to help teams make sound technical and delivery decisions.
  • Coordinate across CG Life technical capabilities (engineering, data, analytics, marketing operations, omnichannel enablement, etc.) to provide integrated delivery to our clients.
  • Provide senior oversight for delivery risks, tradeoffs, dependencies, and escalations, serving as a consistent point of accountability for major technical decisions.
  • Remain accountable for the overall quality and success of technology work across the account.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience serving as a senior technology leader or strategic technology partner in a client-facing environment.
  • Experience working in a creative, digital, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Strong ability to understand business priorities and translate them into clear technology strategies, roadmaps, and actionable recommendations.
  • Broad technical fluency across solution architecture, digital platforms, systems integration, data, security, and AI, with the judgment to guide major technology decisions.
  • Experience providing technical leadership across multiple projects or workstreams while maintaining consistent direction and standards.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including Engineering, QA, Data, Marketing Operations, experience/operations teams, Account Leadership, and other agency capabilities.
  • Strong planning and delivery judgment, including experience with scoping, estimation, staffing, risk management, dependencies, tradeoffs, and escalations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to make complex technology topics clear and useful to senior client and agency stakeholders.
  • A practical, accountable approach to technology leadership, with a focus on solutions that are scalable, compliant, aligned to client objectives, and successful in delivery.
