Architect the Strategy. Close the Deals. Build the Future.

Madrivo, a world-ranked leader in the affiliate marketing space, is searching for a visionary leader who can unlock exponential revenue growth through consultative selling, vertical expertise, and high-level partnership strategy. This is a senior leadership position designed for a "Founding Sales Leader"—an executive-level strategist who thrives on autonomy and is eager to personally open doors, close enterprise deals, and build the blueprint for a future division.

You will not inherit a team on day one. Instead, you will be the architect and the engine, building the Agency Services book of business from the ground up with the intent to scale a team around your success.

The Leadership Mission

  • Revenue Architecture: Capitalize on the established foundation and scale the go-to-market strategy for Madrivo’s Agency Services division with focus in the Insurance vertical. Your mandate: design the blueprint for aggressive market expansion and personally execute the sales motion to secure high-value managed service contracts (PPC, Paid Social, Programmatic).
  • Market Penetration & Execution: Serve as the lead deal-maker and face of Madrivo’s agency offering. You will bypass gatekeepers, navigate complex C-suite hierarchies at major insurance carriers, and close six-to-seven-figure retainer deals that validate your strategy.
  • System Design for Scale: While you will operate as an individual contributor initially, you are building for the future. You will document your winning strategies, create the sales playbook, and define the KPIs that will eventually guide the team you hire once revenue milestones are met.

What You'll Build Through Action

Strategic Revenue Operations

  • Lead the evolution of our Agency value proposition, ensuring our Paid Search and Media Buying offerings serve the specific, nuanced needs of target CMOs.
  • Facilitate data-driven sales strategies by leveraging deep insights into the Insurance vertical to identify untapped agency opportunities.

The Sales Foundation

  • Build the "Solution-Architect" sales methodology from scratch. You will prove that moving the conversation from "CPA" to "Media Management Fees" works, creating the template for future hires.
  • Partner with the executive team to define the resource requirements, case studies, and operational support needed to scale your initial wins into a full-fledged division.
  • Establish the "Madrivo Agency Standard" for proposals, pitch decks, and RFP responses, ensuring every interaction screams enterprise quality.

Agency Strategy & Client Acquisition

  • Lead strategic portfolio expansion by personally nurturing long-term, retainer-based relationships with C-suite executives.
  • Establish consultative sales models where you serve as the architect of digital transformation for your clients, guiding them on how to allocate multi-million dollar media budgets effectively.
  • Design opportunity identification processes that allow the organization to cross-sell services (e.g., adding Paid Social to a Paid Search account) within the relationships you establish.

The Strategic Leader We Need

  • Enterprise Hunter: 8+ years of progressive experience in Digital Agency sales (selling Managed Services, not just lead gen). You are a senior leader who still loves the thrill of the hunt and prefers closing deals over managing spreadsheets.
  • Insurance Vertical Expert: Deep understanding of the Insurance ecosystem (Carriers, IMOs, FMOs). You understand compliance, lead quality, and the specific pain points of insurance CMOs well enough to act as a peer, not just a vendor.
  • Paid Media Fluency: You don't need to push the buttons, but you must be fluent in the language of Paid Search (Google/Bing), Paid Social, and Programmatic. You understand how to sell the value of expert media management.
  • Architect Mindset: You don't just follow a process; you build it. You have the discipline to document your wins and losses to create a repeatable system for the future.
  • Change Leadership: Experience launching new service lines or opening new verticals. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can operate without a pre-existing roadmap.

Why This Role Matters

This is a rare opportunity to be an "intrapreneur" within an established, successful company. We are looking for the executive who wants to bet on themselves—someone who wants to write the playbook, prove the model, and then earn the right to build the department they envision.

The Leadership Platform at Madrivo

  • Established Brand Authority: A world-ranked leader in the performance space and a 3x "Great Place to Work," providing a strong foundation for opening doors.
  • Executive Partnership: Direct collaboration with the CEO and SVP of Operations on revenue strategy, agency service packaging, and market positioning.
  • Resource Authority: Access to top-tier media buyers and operational support to ensure the services you sell are delivered with excellence.
  • Future Growth: A clear path to building and leading a team as you unlock revenue streams and demonstrate the division's scalability.

Who We Need

This Head of Business Development role is designed for a strategic leader who believes exceptional revenue results come from personal execution first, followed by systematic scaling.

Ready to architect the future of our agency services and lead from the front? This role demands high-level sales strategy, visionary leadership, and a relentless focus on closing the deal.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
