OUR  MISSION

We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.

Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.

As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.

Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Head of Commercial Operations will be a foundational launch leader responsible for building the commercial operating engine required to bring a new product to market and manage it day-to-day. You will stand up the core infrastructure and vendor ecosystem across distribution, patient support services, medical information, pharmacovigilance, commercial analytics, and pricing and gross-to-net operationalization.

In this role, you will:

In your first 90 days you will:

Build the comprehensive commercialization operations roadmap for launch readiness

    • Develop a detailed launch-readiness roadmap across all commercialization functions, including timelines, owners, dependencies, and critical-path risks.
    • Identify immediate must-do items required to keep launch on track and escalate gaps early.

Begin standing up distribution and fulfillment infrastructure

    • Drive state licensing readiness in partnership with external vendor (lead any contracting & onboarding of vendor)
    • Select a 3PL and begin implementation (define requirements, select a vendor, begin implementation)
    • Define specialty distribution contracting strategy and initiate distributor contracting.

Initiate vendor selection & build for critical path commercialization services (e.g., patient support, pharmacovigilance, medical information)

    • Define requirements for patient support services, pharmacovigilance, and medical information/affairs.
    • Vet, select, and onboard vendors for each function (as required per roadmap).

Define the commercial analytics stack

    • Identify required data sources and reporting needs.
    • Recommend analytics tools, data purchases, and external vendors to support launch and ongoing operations.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

You’re a proven commercial operations leader who has built and run launch infrastructure within pharma and specialty products. You’re comfortable owning vendor-heavy execution, creating structure where none exists, and operating with speed without sacrificing compliance.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 12+ years in commercial operations within pharma, specialty products, or closely adjacent healthcare services.
  • Demonstrated experience standing up launch infrastructure: distribution/channel setup, Patient support services, medical information, pharmacovigilance interface, and cross-functional launch readiness.
  • Strong understanding of gross-to-net mechanics and comfort operationalizing pricing, contracting, and performance reporting.
  • Experience managing complex vendor ecosystems with clear governance, KPIs, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to set clear accountability across internal leads and external vendors while maintaining speed and compliance.
  • Ability to build lightweight, scalable processes (SOPs, controls, operating cadence) in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills; able to translate ambiguity into action and align stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Direct experience operating in oncology and complex provider-administered product environments, including buy-and-bill reimbursement models.
  • Experience with government price reporting (or leading it through vendors) and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in early-stage ventures or building a new business line within a larger company

WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS

  • Act with our members in mind. Thyme Care’s mission matters deeply to you, particularly our member experience.  You are deeply passionate about leveraging technology to improve healthcare outcomes and enhance the experience for all stakeholders.
  • Move with purpose. Your bias for action and ability to prioritize will be crucial. You know how to identify critical needs and drive timely execution.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. You possess a proven track record of thriving in the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of a startup, particularly within the evolving health tech landscape. You embrace change and can adapt strategies as needed.
  • Expertise in Health Tech Business Development & Operations. Your deep understanding of the health tech market, including its unique challenges and opportunities, and your experience in building strategic partnerships and launching new initiatives, will be critical to your success.

At Thyme Care, our core values guide us in everything we do: Act with our members in mind, Move with purpose, and Seek diverse perspectives. They anchor our business decisions, including how we grow, the products we make, and the paths we choose—or don’t choose.

We embrace and celebrate a diversity of perspectives in reflection of our members and the members we serve. We are an equal-opportunity employer.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
