About us

Common Room is the AI GTM Platform that empowers your teams with AI agents built on complete buyer intelligence. We unify every signal across the full buyer journey into one continuously-updated, person-level view—so your team knows exactly who to target and why, what to say, and when to reach out.
GTM teams are drowning in tool sprawl, fragmented data, and AI that doesn't deliver. Common Room replaces your disconnected stack with one platform built for scale and complexity. We bring together data, orchestration, and execution in one system built for orgs of 75-1000+.
We've raised over $50 million from top-tier investors including Greylock, Index, and Madrona, and we're backed by 25+ operators from companies like Figma, Stripe, Airtable, Slack, Notion, Loom, and more.
You + Common Room?
You'd be joining a team that values simplicity, passion, trust, each other, and our customers above all. We ask hard questions, collaborate gladly, and make decisions quickly.
So hello! Please, knock on our door. We'd love to meet you.

Why we need you

Design is core to how we build and differentiate. We’re looking for a Design Leader who can operate as a player-coach: someone eager to roll up their sleeves and ship high-quality work, while also guiding the design function as we scale our product and brand.

You’ll work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and go-to-market teams to shape elegant, intuitive experiences—both in our product and in how we tell our story. You’ll balance day-to-day design execution with long-term team leadership, helping define our design culture, processes, and standards from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to own design in a high-growth startup with clear product-market fit, category-defining potential, and a passionate user base. If you love working in the middle of product, brand, and business—and want to leave your fingerprints on something big—we want to meet you.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Design Hands-On: Own and execute key design work across product and brand—especially in high-impact areas like UX patterns, dashboards, onboarding, and storytelling.

  • Lead by Example: Set a high bar for craft, speed, and clarity. Model best practices in product and design ledt thinking, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Grow the Team: Help recruit and mentor other designers. Shape a culture that prioritizes simplicity, customer empathy, and high-velocity learning.

  • Persona Centric:Lead the charge in ensuring we build a deep understanding across the company of who are users are, what they care about, and jobs they need to get done.

  • Bridge Product and Brand: Ensure a consistent design language across our product UI, website, marketing materials, and customer-facing assets.

  • Own Design Systems: Evolve our existing design system and UI foundations to support faster iteration and cohesive user experiences.

  • Advocate for the User: Leverage customer research, product usage data, and cross-functional input to drive design decisions.

  • Partner Across Functions: Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, marketers, and GTM leads to shape strategy and deliver impactful work.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in product and/or brand design, including time spent at high-growth B2B SaaS companies.

  • A strong individual contributor portfolio that demonstrates clarity, craft, and usability across product and marketing experiences.

  • Experience mentoring or managing other designers, even informally, with an interest in team building and coaching.

  • A person with a strong growth oriented mindset.

  • Comfortable toggling between strategic leadership and tactical execution.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills—especially in remote, async-friendly environments.

  • Familiarity with data-rich or workflow-centric tools (bonus for PLG, RevOps, or GTM experience).

  • Fluency in Figma and other modern design tools.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You thrive in ambiguity and move fast with intention.

  • You think in systems but never lose sight of details.

  • You believe the best design starts with a real customer problem—not just a pixel-perfect mock.

  • You’re energized by the duality of designing and leading.

  • You care deeply about the full customer journey—from first touch to long-term adoption.

  • You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional partners who challenge you to think bigger.

  • You’re passionate about designing tools that make work feel more human, not less.

The compensation range for this position is between $200,000 and $280,000 (plus equity) depending on experience.

Our values:

  • Be Customer-centric - We work backwards from the needs of our customers. The crisp articulation of customer value guides our decisions.

  • Strive for Simplicity - We choose simplicity over complexity whenever possible. We seek to identify and understand the essential quality of what we are building.

  • Make it Happen - We are quick to take the first step, and prioritize decisiveness over fear of making a mistake. We don’t confuse motion for movement and we measure ourselves on impact over actions.

  • We’re In this Together - We measure personal success by the success of our customers and teammates. Relationships matter, and the strongest ones are built on the foundations of trust, enablement, and transparency.

Our benefits:

Our investment in caring for our employees and their families is a key part of our values and culture at Common Room:

  • Competitive base compensation with meaningful equity ownership

  • Health insurance including medical, dental, and vision, HSA and FSA

  • We pay 100% of your employee premium and 50% of your premium for any dependents

  • Unlimited Paid Time Off

  • Paid Company Holidays

  • Work from home policy including a laptop and support for your home office needs

  • Monthly Remote Stipend

  • 401(k) self contribution

  • Paid Family Leave

  • Opportunity to join a diverse, passionate, and fun team at a pivotal time in the company’s lifecycle

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
