Role Description
This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated event marketing leader to join the Dropbox team and redefine our events and experiences, focusing on our key audiences. As the Head of Event Marketing, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams on event strategy, execution, and optimization, ensuring consistent communication of progress and results.
This role is pivotal in upholding our brand ethos and fostering strong affinity with our key audiences to drive awareness and demand for our products. This position will closely collaborate with Brand Marketing, Comms, Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing, Central Design, Internal Events, and other cross-functional teams.
The candidate must be proficient in understanding data to make informed decisions that maximize outcomes against goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive event marketing strategy that aligns with the interests of our key audiences, business objectives, and product roadmap
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all events, including exclusive hospitality opportunities, sponsorship events, annual conferences and digital events / webinars
- Understand the scope and operational requirements for each event, including inputs, timelines, dependencies, budget, and key deliverables from cross-functional partners as well as requirements from our agencies
- Maintain a rolling event plan and manage day-to-day operations of multiple events simultaneously, ensuring visibility into key milestones for each event
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Brand Marketing, Communications, Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing, Central Design, Internal Events, and Sales, to ensure alignment in event strategy, goals, and messaging
- Incorporate data-driven insights and establish clear goals for every event to drive awareness and demand for our products. Effectively and consistently communicate plans and results with stakeholders at all levels across the organization
- Stay updated on industry trends to continuously enhance Dropbox’s event marketing strategy. Develop new event concepts, processes, and formats, ensuring consistency, creativity, and cross-functional alignment
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in managing both smaller-scale and large events, preferably within the tech industry
- A leader with a problem-solving mindset and a proven track record of excelling in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and shifting priorities; adaptable and resilient
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently, executing on time and within budget, while balancing strategic and creative thinking
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Proficiency in navigating a matrix organization and representing the team with integrity, professionalism, and self-reliance
- Ability to bring industry best practices, benchmarks, and outside expertise to the table to elevate our impact
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel up to 20%
- Experience in managing events across digital environments
- Proficiency in analyzing data sets and understanding the customer journey
- Passionate about translating brand principles into impactful real-life experiences
