About Tin Can

At Tin Can, our mission is to bring more joy to the world through the freedom of simple, meaningful connection.

We’ve reinvented the landline for friends: a screen-free, text-free, ad-free phone that gives kids independence and parents peace of mind. Built on a fully private network, Tin Can makes it easy for families to stay in touch without the distractions of smartphones.

We’re a fast-growing, mission-driven team building products designed to strengthen relationships and give people more ownership over how they connect. If you care about thoughtful design, real impact, and creating tools that make everyday life a little more joyful, you’ll feel right at home.

The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Growth Marketing to own Tin Can’s performance and system-driven growth efforts. This role is responsible for everything we can measure, test, iterate, and scale — while staying deeply connected to our brand, our product, and the families we serve.

This role sits at the center of paid acquisition, partnerships, and experimentation. You’ll work closely with Brand and Product, but your mandate is clear: build thoughtful, repeatable systems that drive efficient, sustainable growth.

Tin Can already has something special — organic love, word-of-mouth, and real momentum. The Head of Growth Marketing’s job is to steward that energy and help it travel further — turning what’s working into scalable programs, without compromising what makes the brand feel human in the first place.

What You’ll Do

You’ll own anything in marketing that can be measured, iterated on, and turned into a machine, including (but not limited to):

  • Paid acquisition strategy across channels (testing, scaling, creative feedback loops, CAC discipline)

  • Influencer programs, especially micro-influencers where performance > polish

  • Affiliate and referral programs that compound over time

  • Experimentation and testing frameworks across channels and funnels

  • Attribution, dashboards, and reporting — you define what “good” looks like and make it visible

If there’s a growth lever we can pull, test, or automate, it likely lives with you.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–12+ years of experience in growth or performance marketing

  • Experience building and scaling growth engines in consumer or subscription businesses

  • Comfort owning numbers end-to-end: CAC, LTV, payback, retention, conversion

  • Deep hands-on experience across multiple channels (paid, email, partnerships, affiliates, etc.)

  • A builder’s mindset — you’re excited to start scrappy and systematize over time

  • Strong analytical instincts paired with creative empathy (you know great creative when you see it)

  • A builder at heart who finds fulfillment in doing the work, not just directing it

  • A passion for building deeper, more meaningful connections across generations

Bonus points if:

  • Experience scaling from early traction to meaningful volume

  • Hardware, marketplace, or subscription experience

  • Prior experience hiring and leading growth teams

  • Comfort working in a brand-forward environment without losing performance discipline

Why Join Tin Can

We’re building more than a product, we’re building a movement.

That means moving quickly, thinking creatively, and holding ourselves to a high bar. It also means we support one another, lead with empathy, and stay connected to the families we serve. Below are our values, which guide how we build, communicate, and show up in the world:

  • Keep it Simple: The less complicated, the more profound. Everything we do should make sense to a five-year-old (and delight a grandparent, too).

  • Lead with Wonder: We are driven by curiosity, imagination, and openness. We ask questions and imagine possibilities.

  • Be (joyfully) Rebellious: We push the limits, challenge assumptions, and have fun while doing it.

  • Pick Up the Phone: We practice what we preach. We don’t hide behind screens; we make the call, grab coffee, or go for a walk. We value kind candor and show up for our communities, and each other, because real, lasting connection is in our DNA.

If you’re excited to help shape a company that’s equal parts ambitious and human, we’d love to hear from you!

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
