Exactera has offices in New York City, Tarrytown NY, San Diego, CA, London, and Argentina.

The Opportunity

This is Exactera's first true Head of Marketing, and it is a builder's role. We have a clear marketing strategy in place and a strong foundation to build from. What we need now is the right person to come in, learn our business deeply, and execute with precision and pace. You will grow into a key voice in how the strategy evolves, but Day 1 is about understanding the mission and helping us execute at a high level. You will report directly to the CRO and work cross-functionally with our GTM team and Subject Matter Experts across our business units. Your foundation is content and AI, your instincts lean toward demand generation, and your scope is the full marketing function.

What You Will Own
  • Build and run a high-cadence content engine: own the editorial calendar, partner with SMEs across Transfer Pricing, R&D Credits, and Indirect Tax, and produce a mix of evergreen thought leadership and campaign-mapped content that moves our audience
  • Own GEO and AEO strategy and execution in partnership with our external service partner, positioning Exactera ahead of the curve for AI-powered search by end of year
  • Drive demand generation through integrated campaigns across email, paid, social, and events, mapped to buyer personas, tax timelines, and our existing campaign framework
  • Own website strategy and CMS management: keep the site current, optimize for conversion and discoverability, and continuously improve performance
  • Lead the design and production of internal and external collateral including sales one-pagers, decks, campaign assets, and event materials, maintaining brand consistency across every output
  • Manage our marketing coordinator and external resources, and build the team thoughtfully as the company scales
Who You Are
  • 7 to 10 years of B2B marketing experience, with a strong lean toward content, AI-enabled workflows, and demand generation, and the range to own the full function
  • Proven ability to execute in a lean, high-output environment: you are as comfortable writing copy and managing a CMS as you are running a campaign or analyzing performance data
  • Hands-on with HubSpot or similar marketing automation, CMS platforms, and website performance optimization
  • AI-adept and already using tools daily: our stack includes Claude, Lovable, n8n, and Gamma, and if you have a must-have tool not on the list, we will buy the license
  • A strong writer who can make complex tax and finance topics compelling, with the judgment to know when to go deep and when to keep it sharp
  • Hungry to own something, grow into a exec-level leader, and build a function that reflects your standards
What Success Looks Like
  • You have learned the business and are executing against the existing strategy with confidence within the first 60 days
  • A consistent, high-quality content engine is running and GEO/AEO execution is underway by end of Q3
  • Demand generation campaigns are in-market and contributing to pipeline by year end
  • Website, collateral, and brand are polished, consistent, and current across every channel
  • The marketing function is recognized internally as a strategic driver, and you are on a clear path toward exec-level

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
