Position Summary

We are seeking an HR Consultant for an hourly, 1099 contract role supporting compliance and HRIS administration. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience with Rippling and a strong understanding of compliance requirements across various states, including state tax and worker’s compensation regulations. This is a part-time consulting position requiring an estimated 5 to 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Completing key employment changes within Rippling, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and compensation adjustments

  • Managing and resolving state tax registration, worker’s compensation, and compliance tasks across multiple jurisdictions

  • Ensuring ongoing HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

  • Assisting in the development, documentation, and improvement of HR workflows and processes, especially within Rippling and ClickUp

  • Generating and analyzing HR reports from Rippling to support data-driven decision-making

  • Providing guidance on HR best practices and compliance matters

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven expertise and hands-on experience with Rippling

  • Extensive knowledge of multi-state employment law and HR compliance requirements (federal, state, and local)

  • Demonstrated experience with state tax registration and maintenance for employers across various states

  • Strong understanding of worker's compensation processes and regulations.

  • Proficiency in processing a variety of employment changes accurately and efficiently

  • Experience with HR workflow optimization and reporting

  • Prior experience in an HR consulting or contract role in a start-up environment is a plus
