About LumiMeds

LumiMeds is a fast-growing U.S.-based telehealth startup focused on weight management and long-term metabolic health. We are building the next generation of e-commerce and clinical infrastructure from the ground up.

As an early-stage company, we move quickly, operate with limited layers, and expect high ownership from every team member. There is no bureaucracy here — decisions happen fast, priorities evolve, and builders thrive.

We are a remote-first, globally distributed team that values clarity, accountability, and people who take initiative rather than wait for direction.

LumiMeds is a fast-growing telehealth startup focused on weight management and metabolic health. We're building our people function from the ground up — and we need someone who can own it end to end.

This is primarily a lifecycle HR role. You'll build and run the infrastructure that keeps our team running: onboarding, performance, compliance, employee relations, compensation, and everything in between. We don't have a handbook yet. You'll write it.

On top of that, you'll own recruiting across all of our open roles. Most hiring is straightforward — but we also recruit for technical roles (engineering, AI/ML), and that's where the bar gets higher. You don't need to be a deeply technical person, but you need to be able to source, screen, and close engineers credibly without leaning on a third party to do it for you.

If you've spent your career as a pure recruiter or a pure HR admin, this probably isn't the right fit. We need someone who's done both — and built both from scratch.

This is a fully remote contract role, open to candidates from LATAM, South America, and Europe.

What You'll Own

Lifecycle HR (Primary)

  • Design and run onboarding, offboarding, and the full employee lifecycle
  • Build and maintain HR documentation, policies, and compliance frameworks
  • Coordinate global payroll and contractor agreements across multiple countries
  • Establish performance management systems tied to measurable output and ownership
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for employee relations and people questions
  • Partner with founders on org design, compensation strategy, and workforce planning

Recruiting (All Roles, Including Technical)

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across all open roles — creative, sales, ops, clinical, and engineering
  • Source and screen technical candidates (Full-Stack, AI/ML, DevOps) without outsourcing to agencies
  • Manage and optimize our hiring pipeline in Greenhouse
  • Design interview processes and scorecards that create signal, not noise

Who You Are

You've built people infrastructure at a startup before — not inherited it. You're comfortable in ambiguity, move fast, and don't need a lot of hand-holding. You can hold your own in a conversation with an engineer. You know Greenhouse well enough to configure it, not just navigate it. You've hired across time zones and understand what global remote compliance actually involves.

You use AI tools in your day-to-day work and have genuinely changed how you operate because of them.

Why LumiMeds

Founding-level ownership. Direct access to leadership. Real impact on how we hire and how we scale. Not for everyone — but if you want to build something that matters, let's talk.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
