The HR Manager will oversee HR operations, support managers with employee relations, ensure compliance, and enhance HR processes for an improved employee experience.

The HR Manager role is a critical partner to company leadership and team managers, supporting the overall employee experience, shaping company culture, and ensuring compliance with HR-related policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Own and operate day-to-day HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, leaves, and compliance.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and issues related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Coordinate and support the execution of performance review cycles, engagement surveys, and other company-wide HR initiatives.
- Maintain and manage data in our HRIS and other people tools.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Collaborate with managers and leadership to support employee relations and performance conversations.
- Support recruitment coordination, offer letters, and background checks (in partnership with hiring managers and external recruiters).
- Identify opportunities to improve existing HR processes for clarity, efficiency, and employee experience
- Keep documentation up to date, including employee handbooks, HR policies, and internal guides.
- Partner with our legal or external HR advisors as needed on compliance or sensitive employee matters.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist or HR operations role, in a tech startup or small company environment.
- Experience operating core HR processes rather than designing them from scratch.
- Familiarity with California employment law and multi-state compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for process accuracy and documentation.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - trusted by employees and managers alike.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
