About The Role

Step into a role where your work fuels real progress in healthcare. We’re looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (on-site) for our nonclinical research site in Columbia, MO, who thrives on building trust, strengthening culture, and supporting teams dedicated to advancing medical breakthroughs. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees. As a HRBP, you'll be surrounded by colleagues who care about the research we do, and care about the impact we make every day. Your work will directly influence our people strategy, employee experience, and long‑term organizational success.

What You'll Do Here

  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate the execution of HR strategies and solutions within the assigned client groups.

  • Partner with client group senior managers and leaders to deliver strategic HR services such as workforce planning, organizational design and talent management as well as succession planning, high potential, etc.

  • Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.

  • Manage employee relations matters with professionalism and legal compliance.

  • Lead timely and objective workplace investigations involving conflict or harassment.

  • Guide managers in assigned client groups on the governance and effective application of HR policies, procedures and programs.

  • Act as a change agent, helping teams navigate business‑driven transitions with clarity and confidence.

  • Support key HR cycles such as annual performance reviews, salary adjustments, promotions, integration/check-in period, employee experience and development initiatives.

  • Partner with various HR subject matter experts such as Compensation, Learning and Development and Training, HRIS as well as Talent Acquisition to provide effective HR solutions designed to meet the business challenges.

  • Manage employee offboarding process.

  • Analyze metrics and gather input to provide insight into trends and propose appropriate interventions to achieve business goals and increase employee engagement, development and retention.

  • Work closely with HR colleagues to coordinate HR support activities, ensure cohesion and create synergy for addressing all human resource client needs.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 4+ years as an HRBP.

  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point) and HCM systems.  Workday experience a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple priorities.

  • Solid understanding of labor laws.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance risks and benefits.

  • Experience supporting organizational change and fostering a positive culture.

  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to think strategically, adapting approach as needed and weighing in benefits and risks.

  • Able to develop strong interpersonal work relationships built on trust and credibility.
