Position Summary:

The HR Generalist provides comprehensive, hands-on support across various HR disciplines, including Workforce and Organizational Planning, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits), Reward & Recognition, Training and Development, Safety & Compliance, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Team Member Relations, and Culture and Engagement. This role is essential in delivering day-to-day HR functions, offering guidance to team members, and supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values. The HR Generalist plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment, promoting Team Members engagement, and ensuring HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. Responsible to consistently role model our Core Values.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Workforce and Organizational Planning:

    • Support the HR Manager in workforce planning and organizational development to meet business needs.

    • Assist in position description updates, compensation assessments, and organizational structure reviews.

  • Talent Acquisition

    • Facilitate the recruiting process, including posting job openings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.

    • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and deliver a positive candidate experience.

  • Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits)

    • Assist in administering Team Members benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, and changes.

    • Support compensation analysis, merit process, and reporting efforts as directed.

  • Reward & Recognition

    • Assist in developing and promoting reward and recognition initiatives that align with company values and foster Team Members engagement.

    • Partner with HR leadership to implement recognition programs and track participation and effectiveness.

  • Training and Development

 

  • Help coordinate training sessions and workshops for team members to support their growth and development.

  • Assist in identifying training needs and tracking participation and effectiveness.

  1. Safety & Compliance

    • Support HR and safety teams in maintaining compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.

    • Assist in administering workers' compensation claims and keeping OSHA logs current.

  2. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

    • Support DEI initiatives by assisting in the planning and implementation of programs that promote an inclusive and equitable workplace.

    • Provide resources and support to foster a diverse workforce.

  3. Team Member Relations

    • Respond to basic Team Members inquiries related to HR policies, practices, and benefits.

    • Assist in handling basic Team Members relations issues and escalate complex matters to the HR Manager as needed.

  4. Culture and Engagement

    • Assist in organizing Team Members engagement activities that promote team cohesion and align with company culture.

    • Support the development and distribution of engagement surveys and the analysis of results.

    • Uphold the highest level of confidentiality, ensuring that sensitive Team Member information, compensation details, and organizational data are protected at all times, in strict compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

    • Exercise professional discretion in handling sensitive information, limiting access to only those with a clear need-to-know basis, and maintain secure storage of all confidential records.

  • Customer Service:

    • Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to Team Member concerns, delivering accurate information promptly, and maintaining a solution-focused approach that enhances the Team Member experience.

    • Act as an HR ambassador within the organization, responding to inquiries professionally and respectfully, while ensuring all Team Members feel valued and supported.

    • Proactively identify and address potential issues or areas for improvement in HR services, working to consistently exceed Team Member and management expectations and strengthen the company’s positive work environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Foundational knowledge of core HR principles, including recruitment, benefits, Team Members relations, and compliance.

  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with Team Members at all levels.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paycom.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and 2-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations (note if Required or Preferred):

  • SHRM-CP or PHR, or ability and willingness to obtain within one year of eligibility.

 

Equipment and Software Requirements:

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Basic business understanding of financial calculations.
