Job Description

Summary

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist will be responsible for ensuring secure and efficient access to our systems and applications, maintaining compliance with identity governance and regulatory standards, and supporting user lifecycle management processes. This role involves collaboration with various teams, including Security Operations, HR, and Business Units, to implement and maintain robust IAM practices.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Manage user lifecycle management processes including joiner/mover/leaver, username changes and application-level user management
  • Process and manage access requests including file/folder access, security group administration, and application access, ensuring compliance with FUB policies and standards
  • Support Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) implementation and Maintenance
  • Manage non-human, temporary and 3rd party access requests
  • Provide feedback on process improvements to eliminate false positive alerts and to improve identity workflow processes and procedures
  • Assist IAM lead during incident response activities of identity related security incidents
  • Support administration of IAM systems to ensure operational reliability and security
  • Support enforcement of password policies to ensure secure authentication practices including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Support the business with general Identity related issues including password resets, setting up MFA and facilitating factor resets and application-level authentication

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dedication to integrity, producing high quality results, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate clearly with
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures
  • Complete all required compliance exams on an annual basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

Required Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1 – 3 years experience in IAM discipline
  • Specialized skill set training.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Understanding of access governance and compliance requirements (FFIEC, CRI Risk Profile, NIST 800-53/63 etc.)
  • Proficiency managing user provisioning, deprovisioning and access reviews
  • Working knowledge of authentication mechanisms, including MFA and password policies
  • Knowledge of identity attack vectors, threat tactics, and attacker techniques
  • Familiarity with IAM and Identity Governance tools
  • Good verbal communication and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
