Your Job:


The Brooks Creative Lab imagines/designs/curates/manifests creative assets for internal and external Brooks partners. Print, digital, events, retail, packaging, visual merchandising are our canvas and runners are our inspiration. Your work will appear in marketing initiatives for ecommerce, advertising, retail, events, social, paid media, packaging initiatives and other POP and printed materials such as workbook and sales meeting signage.

 

The Retoucher is key role that supports the execution of high-quality image retouching for Brooks. As a Retoucher, you will be responsible for assisting with the retouching of product, e-commerce, lifestyle images, and various forms of digital content ensuring that they meet brand standards and are visually compelling and correct in color, fabrication, and style. This role is great match for someone who is passionate about image editing/manipulation with solid foundational experience, eager to learn, and is looking to build their skills and career in a dynamic and creative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the retouching and editing of high-quality images for various media, including e-commerce, social media, marketing materials, and print including basic to moderate color correction, cropping, resizing, and enhancing images
  • Collaborate with Senior and Lead Retouchers to ensure images meet the required standards, working on tasks such as removing imperfections, retouching product details, and making sure images are polished and ready for delivery
  • Ensure all imagery adheres to the established brand and product guidelines, maintaining a high level of quality across all assets
  • Help organize and manage digital assets, ensuring files are named correctly and stored efficiently for easy access by the creative team
  • Prepare files for final output, ensuring they are properly formatted and optimized for various platforms (web, social media, print)
  • Communicate effectively to understand creative direction and deliver on project goals
  • Continuously develop your retouching skills by learning new techniques and software tools, staying up to date with best practices and technology in image production workflows and retouching techniques

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in image retouching, photo editing, or digital arts (internships and freelance experience are acceptable). A strong portfolio demonstrating solid retouching skills is required.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, with a basic to moderate understanding of other design software (such as Lightroom).
  • Basic understanding of visual design principles such as composition, color theory, and lighting.
  • Understanding of foundational retouching techniques such as color correction, basic compositing, skin retouching, and background cleanup. Knowledge of file formats, resolutions, and image optimization for optimization outputs is a plus. Data Asset Management (DAM) systems experience is a plus.
  • Strong eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, polished images. Ability to identify and fix small imperfections in images while maintaining natural visual appeal.
  • Ability to follow creative direction. Interest in learning new techniques and improving skills over time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while still meeting deadlines. Strong organizational skills to manage assets and keep track of multiple versions of images.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with senior team members and other departments. Able to take constructive feedback and implement it to improve work quality.
  • Experience with Capture One is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Mac AND PC based equipment.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce photo retouching standards and practices.
  • Ability to respond well to changing priorities, workflows and information.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Fremont Seattle 3 days in office.

Compensation: The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $30.85 - $46.28 per hour. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
