Job Description

About the role 

We are looking for a lead to build out the Incident Operations function at Wise. In this role, you will be driving our Incident management processes across the entire company, ensuring best practices are being followed, that Incidents are declared and driven to resolution minimising any disruption for our customers.

You’ll collaborate closely with our reliability engineering teams that provide the tooling, engineering teams to embed incident management and our risk and compliance teams.

Wise is a regulated company, our Incident Management process needs to meet requirements expected from our regulators, this role is vital to ensure we comply with these expectations.

We’re looking for a lead who can analyse complex requirements and deliver simple, effective solutions. We need a highly proactive individual who can champion the value of this role and evolve it over time—helping our teams achieve our mission with speed, confidence, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What will you be working on?

This is a role with real impact and plenty of room for creativity, where you'll help solve important challenges at scale. You will:

 

  • Build our Incident Operations function. Mentor and develop a team of Incident Operations specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning 

  • Evolve our Incident Process. Utilize incident data and metrics to drive continuous improvement of our incident management framework and processes

  • Scale our Incident Management. Enforce robust incident management processes and governance across the organization. You'll ensure our Incident management programme is up to date, e.g. training, documentation

Qualifications

We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!

  • A passion and up to date knowledge of Incident Management best practices

  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management and the ability to influence effectively

  • Track record of leading an Incident Operations function/NOC or similar

  • Experience in an Incident Manager role for critical incidents in a fast-paced environment - ideally financial services

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
