Summary of the Role:

Previously this role was closed, however, and update was made to the profile target and we are relaunching the search. Since some time has passed since the original posting, we kindly ask that you reapply to be considered.

As we continue to grow our Services organization, we are adding an additional Industry Solutions Consultant (Systems Specialist) to our North America team, reporting to our Senior Consulting Unit Manager (Implementation Services). This is a consultative, customer-facing role ideal for someone who excels at understanding business processes, defining intelligent software solutions, and guiding customers through successful implementations.

This position is also a strong fit for candidates who aspire to continue developing their architecture and design skills. While this is not a Solution Architect role, we are ideally seeking someone who brings a mature consultative foundation and is motivated by a future growth path into Solution Architecture.

In this role, you’ll work closely with customers to understand their unique operational needs and translate them into well-defined M-Files solutions that drive efficiency, compliance, and productivity. The work blends problem-solving, business process design, customer enablement, and technical understanding, without requiring deep coding experience. Strong comfort with Salesforce and business system integration is highly valued.

Experience working with customers in manufacturing or professional services is a plus, as these industries are strategic growth areas for our team.

What You Will Be Doing / Responsibilities and Duties:

Customer Consultation & Solution Design

  • Engage customers to understand business challenges and translate them into clear, actionable M-Files solution designs.
  • Recommend industry-aligned best practices that improve document and knowledge management workflows.
  • Define customer requirements and ensure seamless integration of M-Files into their existing processes and systems.
  • Provide guidance on automation, compliance, and information governance practices.

Implementation & Enablement

  • Serve as project lead for small to mid-sized implementations, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively and on schedule.
  • Conduct customer training and enablement sessions to support adoption.
  • Support pre-sales teams with solution insight, demos, or industry perspectives as needed.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with Services, Sales, Product, and other internal teams to drive customer success.
  • Participate in improving internal delivery methodologies, templates, and best practices.
  • Provide insights into customer needs and market trends that inform product development.

Collaboration Opportunities

  • Work alongside Senior Systems Specialists, Solution Architects, and Business Consultants on multi-phase customer engagements.
  • Align with Key Account Managers to ensure strategic customers receive consistent, well-designed solution outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and subcontractors on larger or more complex implementation projects.

Requirements

Who You Are / Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking someone experienced enough to confidently lead customer conversations and define high-quality software solutions, yet still excited to continue developing toward Solution Architect-level skills over time.

Experience & Attributes

  • Strong consultative background with the ability to translate business processes into well-structured software solutions.
  • Experience in industries such as tax, accounting, audit, insurance brokerage, wealth management, management consulting, or manufacturing is beneficial.
  • Excellent at documenting requirements, designing workflows, and ensuring alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and build trusted customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and ability to quickly learn new technologies and solution methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms is highly valued.

Technical Comfort (Not Deep-Coding Focused)

  • Exposure to Windows-based environments (Windows Server, IIS, MS SQL Server, Active Directory).
  • Experience with databases or SQL is helpful, though not required for advanced development.
  • Understanding of how programming concepts (e.g., C#) may be used in solution extensions is a plus.
  • Ability to conceptualize integrations and data flows between systems.

Growth Path Toward Solution Architect (Context Only – Not a Posted Role)

As a Systems Specialist, you will build the foundational skills needed to progress into a Solution Architect role over time. This typically includes:

  • Growing expertise in solution scoping, requirements analysis, and architectural design.
  • Enhancing your ability to communicate at multiple stakeholder levels (end-users through executives).
  • Gaining deeper understanding of integrations, system design, and technical governance.
  • Participating more independently in customer projects and specifications documentation.

(This is not a dual-role job posting; instead, we are seeking a consultant with the interest and aptitude to grow into this path.)

Participation in our Recruitment Process:

1.     Initial Screening w/People & Culture Team Member

2.     Hiring Manager + Additional Leadership (Sr. Consulting Unit Manager + Consulting Unit Manager)

3.     Panel Assessment: Technical Assessment - reviewed with internal team peers

*Completed Recruitment Process Time Investment for Applicant: ~Approx. 2hrs

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
