The Instructional Designer will be responsible for editing and designing digital curriculum products within the Kiddom platform as well as editing and designing additional supplemental resources. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that teacher and student-facing content are optimized for our digital platform.
We're looking for someone who has a background in K–12 teaching, instructional design, AI driven development, project management, and a willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
You will...
Be the go-to instructional expert on Kiddom’s science products, leading development work, content enhancements and maintenance, and supporting cross functional teams.
Develop and oversee agentic content tools to develop science curriculum and related materials (kits, interactives, media, etc.)
Manually author/edit using the Kiddom platform
Develop and implement protocols for instructional design of curriculum-aligned lesson presentations/graphics/media
Manage contractors and collaborate with vendors to scale-up development that cannot be managed with AI tools.
Review content and provide Quality Assurance feedback
Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications
Provide consistent project updates to various stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress
Troubleshoot and problem-solve when situations do not align with usual processes
Other assigned tasks as needed to meet project deadlines and deliverables
What we're looking for...
4+ years of Science teaching experience at the K-8 level, strong science background is a must.
Expert knowledge of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
Experience writing K-8 science lessons for state adoptions, tasks, teacher materials, and other supporting or supplemental materials [K-8 is a must, high school is a bonus]
Experience using and developing technology to enhance science instruction and content creation. You should be on an AI enthusiast, using claude/openai tools daily and have clear examples of how you’ve automated tasks.
Experience teaching or developing OpenSciEd curriculum
