How You Impact Patients and Practices:

At OrthoFi, our Insurance Coordinators play a critical role in helping patients access quality orthodontic care. As part of a highly engaged and supportive team, you will serve as an insurance expert—partnering with patients, practices, and carriers to verify benefits accurately and efficiently.

In this role, you’ll navigate complex insurance plans, coordination of benefits, and carrier requirements while ensuring patients receive timely access to treatment. Your work directly impacts the patient experience and helps practices deliver exceptional care.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is energized by becoming an expert in all things insurance.

Training Schedule: During your first six weeks of employment, training will begin at 7:00 AM MST. Upon successful completion of training, regular shifts will begin between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM MST.

What You’ll Do

Insurance Verification & Patient Support

  • Verify orthodontic and dental insurance benefits via phone, fax, carrier websites, and electronic platforms.
  • Navigate nationwide insurance carriers and understand carrier-specific requirements and nuances.
  • Complete eligibility checks accurately and efficiently, including urgent and same-day patient requests.
  • Research and resolve complex insurance scenarios, including coordination of benefits and multiple insurance plans.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of insurance networks, DHMO plans, and eligibility processes.
  • Support practices through Salesforce cases and practice chats to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Operational Excellence
  • Consistently meet or exceed daily productivity and quality expectations.
  • Maintain a QA score of 92% or higher.
  • Balance verification methods (phone, web, and electronic tools) to maximize efficiency.
  • Utilize Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams and other internal systems to manage work effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accountability in all aspects of your work.
Subject Matter Expertise & Team Support
  • Develop a deep understanding of OrthoFi’s eligibility and Revenue Cycle Management processes.
  • Become a trusted resource on carrier guidelines, practice nuances, and insurance best practices.
  • Partner with leadership through regular 1:1s to support ongoing development and career growth.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for newer team members as they onboard and build proficiency.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience processing dental insurance claims, eligibility checks, or insurance verification (orthodontic experience preferred).
  • Previous experience in a dental office setting, including roles such as Front Desk Receptionist, Treatment Coordinator, or Insurance Coordinator, is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and active listening skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and business software applications.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated accountability, adaptability, and a sense of urgency.
  • Empathy and compassion when supporting patients and practices.
  • High school diploma required; some college coursework is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • This is a largely sedentary role and sitting will be required for long periods of time.
  • Standing, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping will be frequently required.

Compensation: $18/hour
