Own and modernize end-to-end Workday-to-Talent integrations: design, build, deploy, and operate integrations; define standards; implement transformation logic; ensure observability, reliability, and vendor delivery; document and coach partners.

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

We’re looking for an Integration Engineer who can own the Talent (HR) integrations ecosystem end-to-end. The person will own how Workday and our Talent platforms connect – architecture, reliability, observability, and vendor delivery. You’ll lead design and implementation, and decide how the whole system should work and keep raising the bar.

What You’ll Own

1. Integration architecture & ecosystem

  • Own the end‑to‑end integration architecture between Workday and our Talent ecosystem (Comp, Recruiting, Enterprise etc.).

  • Define and enforce patterns and standards: when we use Workday-native tools vs. middleware, custom platforms, how we handle errors, how we design data contracts, how we secure and version interfaces.

  • Actively modernize the landscape: reduce fragile point-to-points, simplify flows, and remove legacy cruft.

2. Design & implementation

  • Lead the design and implementation of integrations

  • Own the full lifecycle: requirements → design → build → test → deploy → iterate.

  • Write and review transformation logic (XSLT, MVEL, etc.) and supporting code

3. Observability & reliability

  • Treat observability as part of the spec: metrics, logs, traces, and alerts are designed up front

  • Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs for key integrations (latency, error rates, data freshness, etc.).

  • Lead incident response and postmortems for integration failures; drive structural fixes.

4. Vendor and partner delivery

  • Be the technical lead with vendors: challenge designs, reject weak patterns, and insist on solutions that fit our architecture and standards.

  • Hold vendors accountable for quality, performance, and operability

  • Work directly with HR, Finance, and other partners to translate business flows into integration designs

5. Documentation & knowledge sharing

  • Maintain clear, current documentation: data contracts, mappings, runbooks, and architecture overviews.

  • Raise the integration literacy of the team: coach engineers and partners on how our ecosystem works and how to use it well.

About You

  • You’re a systems owner with strong technical skills and opinionated about design and patterns.

  • Deep, hands-on experience building and running Workday integrations in production, including:

    • Studio, EIB, Web Services; ideally also Extend and Prism

  • Strong experience with at least one middleware platform

  • Solid understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, XML, XSLT, JSON, and authentication (OAuth, SAML, etc.).

  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language (Java, Python, or JavaScript) and comfort digging into code when needed.

  • Proven track record of owning complex integrations or data flows end-to-end – you can point to systems that work because you designed and led them, not because you followed someone else’s spec.

  • Strong grasp of HR/Talent business processes and HRIS data workflows (recruiting, offers, onboarding, comp, performance)

  • You design for operability and scale: you’ve put real observability and resilience into production systems.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
