Dragos is on a relentless mission to defend industrial organizations that provide us with the necessities of modern civilization; running water, functioning electricity, and safe industrial working environments. As the market leader in ICS/OT Cybersecurity, we are dedicated to arming our customers with best-in-class technology, threat intelligence, and services to protect their systems as effectively and efficiently as possible. We’re a remote-first culture with operations in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC. We’re looking for mission-oriented teammates who embody our core values of authenticity, transparency, and trust. Are you ready to make a difference? Come join a mission that can save the world!

About the Role:

The Business Operations Team (BOT) is looking for a motivated intern to join us onsite at our Maryland office. This role sits at the intersection of release management, program operations, data reporting, and hands-on hardware testing - supporting the team responsible for delivering and sustaining the Dragos Platform across customer environments. This intern will report to the Staff Project Manager and work directly alongside program managers and engineers on live workstreams. This is not a shadow role - you will contribute to real deliverables that support Dragos customers and internal stakeholders. Dragos exists to protect the infrastructure that powers civilization: electric grids, water systems, oil and gas pipelines. As a BOT intern, you will see that mission up close and play a direct role in enabling it.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist active project and program workstreams - including hardware operations and OEM integration - by maintaining status reports, process documentation, and stakeholder communications across all five phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Work onsite in our Maryland lab to test and validate Dragos Platform appliance hardware both Dragos-branded and commercial off-the-shelf configurations - including firmware builds, sensor deployments, hardware intake, and inventory tracking.
  • Support end-to-end release operations for the Dragos Platform, including tracking open issues and regressions, validating fixes, and helping produce release artifacts such as release notes, upgrade guides, and errata documentation.
  • Contribute to KPI tracking and business intelligence reporting by helping build and maintain dashboards and operational reports using tools such as Power BI and Excel, surfacing meaningful metrics to team leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work onsite in the Maryland area for the full duration of the internship.
  • Self-starter that is flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic technical aptitude with computer hardware - hands-on experience at any level is welcome.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - you will produce deliverables that real stakeholders read and act on.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage work across multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Prior coursework or experience in IT, computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as network security, threat detection, or incident response, preferred.
  • Experience with Linux or command-line tools at any level, preferred.
  • Exposure to business intelligence or data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management or issue tracking tools such as Jira or Confluence, preferred.
  • Knowledge of server and storage hardware/appliances a plus.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $20

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
