Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented International Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing US tax compliance and reporting and supporting planning and business initiatives at the Nidec Americas Holding Corporation (“NAHC”) Shared Service Organization reporting to the NAHC International Tax Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Review U.S. federal income tax returns pertaining to Nidec non-US affiliates, such as Forms 5471, 5472 and 8858 including elections and disclosures.
  • Review international compliance computations for earnings and profits, Subpart F, GILTI, and FDII.
  • Perform review of non-US affiliate income tax provisions consistent with IAS 12 and strive to minimize the global effective tax rate while complying fully with the laws of all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Assist in review of transfer pricing documentation and provide guidance related to intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare documentation with respect to global reporting initiatives, such as Country by Country and Pillar 2.
  • Review and oversee Canadian non-resident income tax returns, payroll and indirect tax filings.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on significant transactions such as M&A and cash planning.
  • Lead implementation of process improvements.
  • Develop and mentor staff.
  • Assist with special projects, tax research, tax audits, and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with the tax department and business units to maintain accuracy and efficiency in all tax preparation and reporting activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA or JD / LLM in Taxation preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant corporate tax experience at a multinational corporation and/or CPA firm
  • Strong understanding of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740, IAS 12) and tax planning experience required
  • Good understanding of MS Office and accounting software
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
