Toyota of Renton, a dealership in the O'Brien Auto Group, is looking for Full-Time Internet Sales Consultants who are looking for a chance to advance.


This position is paid 100% commission of personal production and unit counts or state Min Wage, whichever is greater. The percentages start at 25% and go up to 50% based off production. Subject to eligibility requirements, we offer the following benefits:

Job Summary:
The Internet Sales Consultant will be directly responsible for selling new and/or used vehicles at dealership gross and volume standards. This position includes three broad areas of activity: personal work habits, prospecting and selling.


Responsibilities to Include:

  • Being prompt for work and appointments is essential.
  • Keep neat and clean appearance at all times (the first impression is very important).
  • Maintain an assigned CRM database on a daily basis. Make sure to log at least three new prospects and ten phone calls made per day into the CRM database.
  • Make sure that if customers are not walking in the door that proper efforts are made toward the promoting of prospects through the service department, cold calls, and referrals, etc.
  • Be prepared at the beginning of each shift to have the previous days results discussed and have the current days goals available.
  • Sales consultants are responsible for getting payoffs on all auto transactions.
  • Keep the attitude: positive, honest, hard-working, self assured with team spirit, and the feeling, It better be right or well make it right.
  • Follow all sales department procedures for demonstration and price negotiation.
  • Answer phone with a sincere, prompt approach: always giving our name when answering. All calls to the sales department are considered important and proper messages should be delivered to the correct people ASAP. Establish a rapport up front and get the name and number of the customer when discussing new or used car purchases.
  • All sales consultants are required to be in the conference room at the beginning of each shift for training (8:30AM or 1:00PM).
  • Produce knowledge of Washington States requirements as to legal documentation of all deliveries, including out-of-state deliveries.
  • No sales consultant is allowed to qualify on first impression. Every sales consultant must greet every customer as though they were a millionaire; make them feel important, even though at first glance that may not seem warranted.
  • Be certain any promises made to a customer are not concealed from management. If promises are made, be sure to write them down.
  • A COMPLETE SALE is paid a commission. Complete sales consist of: Paperwork done swiftly, accurately and neatly; all moneys received from a customer; car licensed to customer; car is delivered.
  • Split sales-50/50 splits are determined by the sales staff. Each member of our staff is picked because we believe them to be honest, intelligent, and fair in their thinking. We expect each to work as a member of our team and these sales are handled fairly by each sales consultant.
  • Commissions will be paid on future orders when cars are delivered provided sales consultant is still employed by the company. If sales consultant quits or is terminated before delivery, these sales belong to the company.
  • Follow through the delivery of a customers car from clean-up, servicing, proper documentation, and test drive before licensing and delivery.
  • Keep car showroom and new car display area clean and neat with new cars properly aligned by model, color, etc. It is the sales departments job to keep the inventory and area pleasing for the customers to see.
  • Notify management of any flaws in inventory, both in demonstrators and cars in stock.
  • Both a mail and phone follow-up on each delivery within two days.
  • Floor schedule to be worked on an open floor basis: Both phone and walk-ins.
  • Sales consultants are expected to install license plates for the customer in an enthusiastic way to make customer feel encouraged in dealing with the company and welcome at all times.
  • Every morning sales consultants on duty are to open new and used cars on lot and arrange lot if necessary.
  • Every evening before going home, all sales consultants are responsible for making sure everything is locked on the lot.
  • Each sales consultant is required to track their prospects and customer base in a company-provided week-at-a-glance. The week-at-a-glance system and prospects obtained while employed at the company are the property of the company and shall be returned immediately upon employment termination. Failure to comply with this guideline will result in a $10,000 fine which can and will be attached to your wages or paid by the employee in separate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Work in cooperative, positive and professional manner with all personnel in the company.
  • Treat members of the public and customers in a courteous and non-discriminatory manner. Maintain professional demeanor while at work.
  • Must conform to company policy regarding non-discrimination and harassment.

Equipment/Machines/Tools Typically Used: phone, computer, adding machine, copier, calculator, stapler, fax machine, pencils/pens, letter opener, scissors, and rulers.

Physical Demands: Required long periods (80-90% of work day) of standing and walking (on showroom floor, on dealership lot including interior and exterior of building). Capable of walking extensively on concrete. Infrequent sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Lifting 20 lbs or less and carrying 10 lbs or less on a frequent basis. Frequent pushing and pulling, twisting and turning of trunk, reaching and handling of objects, occasional climbing, balancing and crawling
