General Description

The Investment Analyst reports to the Chief Investment Officer is responsible for providing analytical and organizational support to the Compound Planning investment team. The position requires understanding of financial markets, including experience analyzing both public and private market securities and funds. The position will provide broad exposure to the firm’s investment and trading process as well as the operations, engineering and financial advisor teams. Strong communication skills, especially with investment related topics, are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the work of the investment team to deliver a world class investment platform, including:

    • Analyzing and communicating about Compound’s investment solutions across both public and private markets.

    • Ongoing model performance reporting to CIO, including creation and maintenance of model factsheets.

    • Participating in due diligence meetings with public and private investment managers and conducting additional analysis as directed.

    • Supporting the maintenance and updating of due diligence documentation for public and private investments.

    • Write up and maintain weekly investment team meeting minutes.

    • Preparing regular and ad hoc reporting for the CIO and Investment Strategy Group.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in the investment team of an RIA or asset manager.

  • Experience with public and private market securities and funds analysis.

  • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytical skills applied to performance analysis, and investment-related data interpretation.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or other spreadsheet software. 

  • Experience with financial tools/platforms such as Ycharts, Orion Risk Intelligence, Morningstar, or similar.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver clear and effective written and verbal communication.

  • Strong attention to detail and proactive desire to learn.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage on-demand requests, projects and daily duties.

  • Ability to work independently but also work within a team structure.


Preferred Education and Designations

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with an emphasis in economics, business, finance, math or accounting.

  • CFA designation or candidate preferred but not required
