The Investment Counsel will conduct legal research, prepare investment memos, negotiate investment terms, and collaborate with the engineering team.

We're hiring an Investment Counsel to help deploy our latest litigation finance fund. You’ll be joining a growing team of engineers, lawyers, and investment analysts to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment. If you're an experienced lawyer interested in building the future of law and finance, we’d love to talk with you.
Core responsibilities:
- Legal research and due diligence on investment opportunities
- Preparation of investment memos
- Real-time negotiation with plaintiffs and attorneys over investment terms and pricing
- Training and working closely with the engineering team to translate legal knowledge into automation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, History, Law or related field desirable or equivalent experience from a top-tier institution.
- J.D. from an accredited top 20 law school
- 10+ years post-law school experience, including in a litigation practice at AmLaw 200 firm and/or comparable boutique firms
- Experience with plaintiff-side representation, alternative fee arrangements, litigation finance, and/or in an asset-management environment are pluses but not required
- Experience in several of the following areas: commercial litigation, breach of contract, antitrust, multidistrict litigation, employment disputes, whistleblower claims, corporate governance litigation
