The Manager, Business Relationship Management (BRM) is the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders.  The BRM’s goal is to partner with the business to define technology strategies, define solutions, engage with vendors, and deploy technology. 

The BRM understands business processes and provides technology guidance to the business, ensuring maximum ROI for IT investments.  The BRM owns executive-level relationships and serves as a single point of focus, working to converge IT solutions across multiple functions, departments and business lines.  The BRM regularly evaluates existing technologies and evaluates modernization and cost effectiveness of these platforms. 

Duties

  • Lead technology strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals.
  • Prioritize technology and AI initiatives and coordinating the assessment, deployment and management of current and future systems.
  • Assess industry, technology, and competitor trends to identify opportunities to apply technology, AI, and Automation to improve revenue and EBITDA 
  • Own the relationship with business operations team and executives 
  • Own relationship with current and potential vendors 
  • Partner with department leaders to understand business strategy, demand, and priorities and help the business propose programs/projects which will drive those strategic goals.
  • Leverage and optimize both new and existing hardware /software with a focus on collaboration, automation, and efficiencies across business units.
  • Direct continuous improvements of systems and procedures. 
  • Anticipate how business strategy or policy changes will impact systems and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for appropriate and cost-effective investment in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, procurement and in-house development.
  • Participate in the development of IT and business budgets.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending initiatives.
  • Measure effectiveness of deployed solutions.
  • Evaluate and qualify technology solutions/platforms.
  • Participate in client programs and audits as required for optimal utilization, effectiveness, and success.
  • And other job duties as assigned by the line manager.

 


 

Education and Experience

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or technical discipline
  • Professional educational certificates such as Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM), Project Management Professional (PMP), technical certifications or equivalent experience  
  • 5+ years of experience managing and directing an IT function including experience in strategic planning and execution.  
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects 

 Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Proven experience in strategic IT planning, organization, and development
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and systems
  • Advanced knowledge of the pharma commercialization process 
  • Advanced knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and related lab acquisition and analysis software
  • Or equivalent combination of education, professional training and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
  • Ability to listen and build rapport as a strategic partner, vertically within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional teams
  • Ability to map joint organizational vision and long-term thinking, imagination, and idea generation
  • Knowing when to push an agenda and when to let a situation develop, rest, or advance
  • Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods
  • Ability to set expectations with business partners and effectively leverage governance for a positive business partner experience
  • Understand and integrate business strategies and trends in technology to deliver value
  • Ability to identify gaps and areas that need improvement
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Strong client service focus on exhibiting proactivity and follow-through commitments
  • Ability to establish a vision for a platform / technology and collaborate with different teams in implementing that vision.
  • Experience in interacting with development teams to deliver first pass quality
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
