Our Mission

Rebuild how the world works, to make institutions work better for the people they serve.

About Brain Co.

Brain Co. builds AI-native operating systems for large, regulated institutions. Each system is built for a specific industry, powered by agents that push real workflows forward. Underneath it all is Atlas, our proprietary platform that keeps customers in control, secure by design, and never locked into one model.

Why Now

Brain Co. is entering its next phase of production deployments on a national scale with an elite team built from Palantir, Google, Meta, and Nvidia, and a growing footprint across government, insurance, health, and financial services.

Joining now means shaping both the company and a new category of applied AI. Every project here ships to production and is expected to create measurable customer value and impact.

You'll work alongside exceptional peers on some of the hardest problems in applied AI. It’s the kind of work you'll still be proud of in ten years from now.

About the Role

We’re hiring an IT Engineer to manage IT and workplace operations at our San Francisco office. You’ll keep the office running and our team productive. That means managing AV and conferencing systems, office equipment and vendors, being the first stop for IT support, and handling daily systems access in Okta with the central Security & IT team. You’ll also make sure new hires are set up and ready to go when they start.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys a mix of helping people, managing systems and setting up physical spaces. You’ll work independently, own your area from start to finish, and partner with our infrastructure engineer on installs, network work and equipment purchases. As the company grows, there’s room to grow with it: launching new offices, taking a bigger part in endpoint security or identity management. This role will report to Sr. IT Manager.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage IT operations for our SF office: AV and conferencing systems, corporate network, office equipment, supplies, and the vendors behind them.

  • Be the first stop for IT help for SF-based employees: triage hardware and software issues, manage devices from setup to retirement, and keep people productive.

  • Run onboarding and offboarding end to end. Work with People/HR on timing, set up and remove systems access, and make sure every new hire’s laptop and accounts are ready before day one.

  • Make each new hire’s first day smooth and welcoming.

  • Manage daily systems access in Okta for SF staff: user setup, groups, MFA and access requests. Partner with the central Security & IT team on policy and escalations.

  • Lead physical installs such as AV setups and network drops, and buy the equipment the office needs. Work closely with the engineer who owns our core infrastructure.

  • As we grow, help launch new offices, take a bigger role in compliance work like SOC 2 access reviews, and potentially build and lead a small IT support team.

Who You Are
  • You have 5+ years in IT support, workplace operations or a similar hybrid role, and you’re comfortable switching between helping people and handling hardware.

  • You have hands-on Okta experience (or another identity provider) and can manage user setup, groups, MFA and access troubleshooting without a runbook.

  • You’ve set up and fixed AV and conferencing systems and general office IT hardware yourself.

  • You’ve run onboarding and offboarding before: devices ready, access in place, day one handled.

  • You have a strong customer-service instinct. You’re responsive and patient, and you explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.

  • You like working independently and owning a whole area, without a large, siloed enterprise IT team behind you.

  • You don’t need a desk-only role. Running cables, unboxing equipment and fixing a conference room are part of the job you enjoy.

  • You’re happy working from our SF office 3 days a week.

  • You use AI to improve your workflows and learn on the job.

  • Nice to have: experience with MDM tools (Jamf, Kandji/Iru, Intune, JumpCloud), and enough Terraform or scripting to work alongside our infrastructure engineer.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
