Job Description:
The IT Project Manager – Association Management Systems (AMS) plays a critical role in leading and coordinating technology projects that support the client business operations, with a strong focus on AMS platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while aligning with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing AMS-related projects, particularly with Cobalt CRM implementations or similar Microsoft Dynamics 365-based solutions used in association environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end project management for AMS-related initiatives, including new implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including scope statements, timelines, task lists, risk logs, and status reports.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders and translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including internal staff, external vendors, and consultants.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations using tools such as Microsoft Project, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
  • Conduct regular status meetings, issue resolution sessions, and stakeholder updates.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), end-to-end testing, and deployment readiness.
  • Ensure successful project closure, including lessons learned documentation and post-implementation support planning.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably in a nonprofit or association environment.
  • Proven experience managing AMS projects; familiarity with Cobalt CRM or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com, SharePoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.

Preferred:
  • PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management Certification.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and managing vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with data migration, system integration, and CRM best practices.
