ITSM CMDB Administrator

Ferguson is seeking a highly skilled ITSM CMDB Administrator to join our IT Service Management team. This role is responsible for the administration, accuracy, and automation of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within our ITSM platform. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a passion for data quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

LOCATION: This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ITSM and Configuration Management, with solid understanding of ITBM, Asset Management, Event Management, Service Mapping, and application development.
  • Design, implement, and maintain fully automated CMDB data collection and maintenance using APIs, AI, and custom code.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and usability of CMDB configuration items and relationships through ongoing validation and governance.
  • Develop and support ITSM applications and integrations with external systems.
  • Identify system gaps, recommend solutions, and provide ongoing production support.
  • Collaborate with ITSM team members, internal business customers, and vendors to deliver enhancements, configuration changes, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain documentation and continuously improve processes, standards, and tools.
  • Provide technical training, guidance, and documentation to IT associates.
  • Know the latest on ITSM platform capabilities and supporting technologies.
  • Other tasks related to ITSM as deemed vital by management
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in CMDB administration preferably using ServiceNow.
  • Good understanding of configuration item hierarchy and CMDB data modeling.
  • Experience with ITIL methodology
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with APIs and automation; exposure to AI technologies including Generative AI, predictive analysis and AI agents is a plus.
  • Customer focused mentality with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information System or Computer Technology required.
  • Proficient using MS Office products.
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently, lead initiatives, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • High ethical standards, adaptability, and willingness to support evolving business needs, including occasional travel.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$5,444.76 - $9,537.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
