Junior Software Engineer

Overview
Corporate Tools is hiring a Junior Software Engineer. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a remote position, but if you're near one of our local offices, you're welcome to come hangout with us in-office as well. Our main offices are in Post Falls, ID, and Spokane, WA; we also have satellite offices in Austin, TX, and Salt Lake City, UT. You'll be working 40 hours a week and, of course, enjoy great company benefits.
At Corporate Tools, you'll join a tight-knit crew of engineers with all kinds of backgrounds, experiences, and technical superpowers. Some of us build shiny new Rails applications, some enjoy untangling the mysteries of older Rack apps, and some can talk about Ruby for far longer than anyone asked them to. We love learning, experimenting, and finding better ways to solve problems-as long as we're building things that genuinely make an impact.
As an early-career engineer, you won't be expected to know everything (nobody does). What matters most is curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a desire to tackle new challenges. You'll have teammates who are happy to answer questions, share knowledge, and help you grow, but you'll also have opportunities to take ownership of your own projects and build confidence along the way.
We're a nimble team, which means priorities can change and new opportunities can appear out of nowhere. One week you might be improving an existing application, and the next you could be helping launch something entirely new. If you enjoy variety, learning by doing, and solving interesting technical puzzles with a group of people who genuinely enjoy working together, you'll fit right in.
What's in a title?
At Corporate Tools, we don't put much stock in titles. They're helpful for job postings, but once you're here, what matters is your impact, growth, and the unique strengths you bring to the team. We use levels instead of traditional titles because they give us more flexibility to support career development without forcing people into rigid boxes. Through regular conversations, you'll have clear expectations, opportunities to grow, and ongoing discussions about challenging work, progression, and compensation. Our goal is simple: create an environment where talented people can keep learning, taking on new challenges, and building a career that's meaningful to them. And if you'd like a traditional title for LinkedIn, that's perfectly fine too.
Wage
$75,000 / year

Responsibilities

• Develop Software

• Learn how to become proficient in Ruby, Rails, and Vue

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or at least 2 years of related experience
• At least 1 year of relevant professional experience
• Experience with current software development languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, or Rust, etc.
• Experience with front-end web development languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Experience with current web application frameworks such as Django, Laravel, or Ruby on Rails (preferred but not required)
• You're easy-going and willing to learn on the job while also getting stuff done
• Able to work in an agile environment with a focus on continuous integration
