Job Summary

The position serves as the System Integration Lead with PMA-207, the USMC KC-130J program. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the management of the C-130J and aircraft subsystems, and mission systems equipment during the design, development, modification, and sustainment phases of the system.

Key Responsibilities:

The KC-130J Systems Integration Lead  will work with the Deputy Program Managers, Avionics IPTL, CHENG, and APMSE, and  Mission Systems Support (MSS) and coordinate with USAF’s and OEM Software leads in the development and execution of systems engineering processes and functions, support the acquisition activities and production of KC-130J airframes, participate in contract efforts related to modifications, provide integration support for airframe and modifications to meet the mission and requirements, support KC-130J mission systems integration efforts and test activities, and serve as a liaison between the all stakeholders and the Avionics IPTs to ensure perspectives from all stakeholders is understood and articulated and executable.

The KC-130J Systems Integration Lead will be provide MS interface-related insight during development and execution of the airworthiness qualification plan as well as participate in execution of risk management, requirements change management, and interface control as it relates to air vehicle efforts. Additionally, the KC-130J Systems Integration Lead will assist the Avionics and Comms APMSE in managing platform resources, like size, weight, power, and cooling (SWaP-C) and working with the Vendor as allocations are made and tracked.

Responsible and accountable to support technical efforts for the KC-130J modification program. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate between the Avionics, Mission Systems Support and Production IPTs on impacts of integration of hardware onto the air vehicle platform
  • Maintain coordination with VX-20 and the test community and ensure test entrance criteria is met and that the test team post test results are communicated back to the IPT’s with a plan to address any deficiencies.
  • Work with certifying authorities to define requirements and implement solutions to ensure the platform meets its certification requirements
  • Support the ECP/TD process to include producing briefs
  • Assist in the NAVAIR EDRP process if needed
  • Coordinate between the Avionics and USAF Software and OEM Software on impact of integration of software onto Avionics systems to include JMPS.
  • Assist in coordination and implementation of human system engineering requirements
  • Assist in oversight of design and integration of KC-130J software and Mission computer modifications
  • Support briefs to include Status briefs, technical briefs, POM’s, Financial Briefs
  • Support writing SOW/PWS/ CDRLs
  • Assist in performing SWaP-C coordination between the OEM system level vendors
  • Review contract deliverables and work with the Government SMEs to provide feedback for approval
  • Support the team for Reliability Control Board root cause corrective actions, POA&M requirements as needed
  • Participate and lead Technical Working Groups
  • Define and document risk and participate in risk working groups
  • Participate in NAVAIR and USAF SETR events
  • Develop materials for and participate to Government-lead design reviews
  • Respond to quick-reaction taskers for IPTLs
  • Must understand Navy certification processes, to include Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) and Navy Developmental Test or Organizational Test.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 12 years of related experience
  • Must have Navy test experience
  • Secret Security Clearance is required

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Knowledge of current NAVAIR weapon system management processes, policies and procedures
  • KC-130J or other similar fixed wing or military aircraft experience

Basic Compensation:

$141,300 to $176,600 The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
