The Market Enablement organization plays a critical and strategic role within Group Benefits, serving as the connective tissue between Sales, Service & Implementation, and Operations and the broader partner areas across MetLife. Market Enablement ensures these teams have the guidance, resources, and tools needed to deliver strong market execution and an exceptional customer and broker experience.
Within Market Enablement, the Sales, Service & Operations Communications team acts as the central alignment and engagement hub. The team keeps associates informed, empowered, and connected to business priorities by translating strategy into clear, timely, and actionable communications that support daily readiness and major initiatives across the business.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Lead Communications Consultant is responsible for delivering clear, timely, and actionable communications that strengthen readiness and alignment across Sales, Service & Implementation, and Operations. This role enables frontline and support teams to navigate evolving priorities, adopt new processes, and deliver a more consistent and differentiated customer and broker experience.

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.

- Write, edit, and refine high‑quality communications that translate business priorities into clear, concise, and actionable content for Sales, Service & Implementation, and Operations audiences.
- Coordinate and collaborate across multiple lines of business and key stakeholders to align messaging, validate content, gather inputs, and ensure accuracy and consistency across all communications.
- Manage and optimize communication platforms and channels, taking ownership of how information is delivered and applying creativity and best practices to ensure these channels remain effective, accessible, and engaging for core audiences.
- Apply a data‑driven mindset to communications, using engagement metrics and performance insights to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities, and recommend improvements.
- Contribute to the continuous refinement of communication strategies, simplifying complex information, anticipating communication needs, and ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across the organization.
- Demonstrate agility in a fast‑moving, deadline‑sensitive environment, responding quickly to emerging needs and ensuring communications are delivered with accuracy, clarity, and timeliness.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- Strong proficiency in writing, editing, and message development, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse internal audiences.
- Experience managing or optimizing communication platforms, tools, or channels to ensure information is accessible, engaging, and effectively delivered.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and AI‑enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot to accelerate drafting, improve clarity, and enhance communication speed and quality.
- Ability to operate with agility in a fast‑moving, time‑sensitive environment with strong judgment, composure, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated capability in stakeholder management, including partnering across functions to align messaging and support change‑related communications.
What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
- 5-7+ years of experience in communications, marketing communications, corporate communications, or a related discipline within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience using metrics, analytics, or engagement data to evaluate communication effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
- Creative ability and an eye for design, with interest or experience in developing simple graphics or visual assets.
- Familiarity with basic video editing tools (e.g., Microsoft Clipchamp) or willingness to learn.
