The Lead Communications Manager at Daxko oversees PR strategy, executive communications, and thought leadership within the health and fitness sector, ensuring consistent brand messaging and engagement with media.

The Daxko Lead Communications Manager owns the strategy and execution behind how Daxko shows up in the market — shaping industry narrative, building executive thought leadership, launching products through PR, and driving inbound SEO authority through global media coverage. This role leads original research that positions Daxko as the definitive voice in the health, fitness, and wellness industry, while serving as the strategic communications partner to the executive team. They will set the editorial agenda for earned media and ensure every external moment — from a product launch to a CEO keynote to a global press hit — reinforces a consistent, differentiated point of view across a customer base that spans single-site studios to large multi-location operators, YMCAs, JCCs, and complex multi-purpose facilities.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own Daxko’s overall public relations and media relations strategy — including the annual PR plan, editorial calendar, agency oversight, media list development, and the strategic relationships with tier-one journalists, trade press editors, industry analysts, and influencers across health, fitness, wellness, and SaaS technology beats
- Build and execute the executive communications strategy for the full Executive Leadership Team — translating the PR strategy and calendar into individual exec platforms, including thought leadership themes, ghostwritten bylines, keynote messaging, executive social presence, podcast and speaking placements, and interview preparation
- Lead public relations strategy and execution for all product launches and milestone company moments — including narrative development, embargoed press outreach, customer spokesperson coordination, and post-launch coverage and ensure earned media narratives, research storylines, and executive messaging are reinforced across owned channels (blog, social, email, sales enablement
- Lead Daxko’s industry thought leadership and brand-building program through original research and customer insights content — producing benchmark reports, data studies, and trend analyses that position Daxko as an authoritative voice
- Drive measurable SEO authority and inbound link growth through a global digital PR program — placing data-driven stories, expert commentary, and research findings in tier-one trade and business publications across key markets
- Monitor and report on communications performance — including share of voice, media sentiment, message pull-through, executive visibility, and PR-driven SEO impact (referral traffic, backlinks, domain authority) — with monthly and quarterly reporting to the ELT
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional writing skills with a proven ability to translate complex business and product topics into compelling press materials, executive bylines, research narratives, and customer stories
- Confident operating with C-suite executives — comfortable advising on messaging, interview prep, crisis response, and personal brand strategy
- Strong program ownership instincts — able to run multiple concurrent workstreams (launches, research reports, executive platforms, agency relationships) without dropping quality
- Data-fluent — able to spot a story in a dataset, partner with research and analytics teams, and measure PR impact in terms of share of voice, sentiment, and SEO-driven referral traffic and backlinks
- Proficiency in modern PR and communications tools (e.g., Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater, Prowly, HARO/Qwoted, Google Workspace, social platforms, AI writing tools) and a track record of using them to drive measurable outcomes
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Six (6) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in Communications, Public Relations, or a similar role, with at least three (3) years owning PR or executive communications programs
- Demonstrated success placing earned media in tier-one trade and business publications and securing measurable share of voice growth
- Hands-on experience leading product launch PR and producing research- or data-driven content (benchmark reports, surveys, industry studies)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in Communications or PR for a B2B SaaS company, ideally serving the health, fitness, wellness, or nonprofit/membership-organization industry; agency-side experience at a PR or digital PR firm is a strong plus

Where you fall within the compensation range is based on how you demonstrate the skills and competencies needed for the role. We typically reserve the upper half of our compensation bands for team members who have grown within Daxko. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or other performance-based incentives. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, recognition programs, and plenty of opportunities to grow your career with us.
The pay range for this role is $110,000 – $150,000 per year.
