About the Job: 

LaunchDarkly is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our Feature Management team. This team’s mission is to empower developers with best-in-class controls and insights for managing software features. LaunchDarkly is best known for its Feature Management product, and in this role you’ll be at the forefront of impacting developers in this highly visible area. You’ll build features and tooling that are critically embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. You’ll enable developers improve their efficiency with seamless control of their software releases.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement developer-first tooling such as MCP servers and browser toolbars.

  • Deeply understand developer workflows so that you can streamline developer experiences. Directly influence the developer roadmap and experiential details by representing the voice of the developer.

  • Lead a small team of engineers towards delivering impactful developer-focused initiatives, including defining product requirements on occasion. After all, nobody can understand the developer persona better than an actual developer!

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to create cohesive, end-to-end developer experiences.

  • Participate actively in architecture planning, code reviews, and mentoring peers in full-stack best practices.

  • As part of our you-build-it-you-run-it culture, all developers may be responsible of support applications in production, including on-call.

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience building full stack web applications. Familiarity with Typescript, React, Node, and Go is preferred but not required.

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions.

  • Proven ability to work closely with Product and Design teams to define requirements for new features in a fast-paced iterative environment, and to be a self-starter when Product and Design aren’t available.

  • You write code that can be easily understood by others, with an eye towards maintainability.

  • You hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems.

  • You value high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills; committed to continuous learning about emerging technologies and mobile best practices.

  • Experience utilizing AI tooling to enhance daily engineering efficiency.

Pay:

Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 4:

  • Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area: $187,000 - $257,000**

  • Zone 2: Boston, DC, Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Seattle: $168,000 - $231,000**

  • Zone 3: All other US locations: $158,000 - $218,000**

LaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

*Within the United States, our geographic pay zones are defined by counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.
**Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
