We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team and support our technology and data science organizations. The ideal candidate will act as a partner to the leadership team, providing expert HR guidance and support to drive business objectives and foster a positive work environment. This role requires a deep understanding of the technology industry and the ability to align HR strategies with business goals. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

What You'll Do:

  • Understand and contribute to Tempus People Team strategy.

  • Partner with technology leaders to educate on the roadmaps and initiatives the People Team is undertaking.   Assist in implementing those strategies within technology teams and drive a high-performance culture.

  • Be an operating partner to technology teams.  Provide guidance and support on performance management, organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management.

  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and develop solutions to improve employee engagement and retention.

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. 

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.  Proactively educate Technology teams on important decisions and changes to regulations.

  • Integrate into Tempus People Team and partner with Recruiting, Talent Development, Compensation, Legal, and People Operations teams to implement solutions and help scale the business.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience required

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR credential strongly preferred

  • At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years as an HR Business Partner, preferably supporting a technology organization

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, and performance management.

  • Proven ability to influence and drive change within a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Workday.

Additional Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.

  • Customer-service focused and able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and managers in a team-based environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.

  • Ability to think strategically, while driving and owning initiatives.

  • Highly adaptable and flexible; able to navigate competing priorities. 

  • A general knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, affirmative action and other federal, state and company guidelines preferred

Illinois Pay Range: $100,000 - $145,000

The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
