Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S. Hybrid positions are open to applicants based in the Phoenix, Arizona area. 

Position Summary:

Join the National Corporate Alliances Account Management Team as a key contributor, with a focus on developing, cultivating and managing national corporate partnerships to provide key financial support, mission critical in-kind resources, employee engagement, and awareness for Make-A-Wish. This role offers the opportunity to play a crucial part in managing major national corporate relationships and contributing to the team’s overall success.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Experience and demonstrated success in account management including relationship and budget management, as well as creation and execution of non-profit fundraising/marketing initiatives and campaigns to drive revenue for the Make-A-Wish enterprise.
  • Possess strong verbal, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Possess excellent negotiation skills.
  • Engage effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
  • Organize work, prioritize, and delegate to meet deadlines, and make timely decisions with sound judgment.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of a multimillion-dollar portfolio of national corporate accounts and their related cause campaigns and fundraising programs.
  • Develops and enhances corporate partnerships through strategic planning, relationship building, strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills. Conducts regular and sufficient communications with all stakeholders.
  • Negotiates corporate contract renewals on behalf of Make-A-Wish and collaborates with legal counsel when necessary.
  • Creates and maintains partnership activation plans, impact reports, marketing plans and appropriate stewardship for assigned portfolio.
  • Analyze industry trends and market data, with a focus on marketing activation, employee engagement and corporate giving.
  • Analyzes assigned portfolio annually according to performance, revenue, and in-kind resources generated, positive and widespread media exposure, and benefit to the corporate partner to determine return on investment and growth potential.
  • Continually explore innovative ways to enhance national partnerships, to drive increased revenue and awareness for the organization.
  • Manage and implement corporate activations for adherence to Foundation guidelines, BBB standards, and state mandated Commercial Co-Venture regulations.
  • Protect the Make-A-Wish brand by providing overall guidance and direction to national partners by ensuring performance standards, Brand Guidelines, Better Business Bureau (BBB), Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT) and Potentially Inappropriate or Controversial Sponsors (PICS) requirements are upheld and represent the organization’s good name.
  • Oversee successful local chapter implementation of national partner campaigns and in-kind programs through effective communication between chapters, national corporate partners, and National Make-A-Wish teams. Develop marketing templates/chapter support materials, gather chapter assets (stories, photos, media clips, etc.) and reports that can be shared with partners, and act as point of contact for any issues that arise with the partner.
  • Enter and maintain information in Salesforce database and run reports related to corporate account portfolio.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing insights and recommendations to enhance partnership strategies.
  • Showcase leadership by taking lead on special projects and committees, as assigned.
  • Performs other job-related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:      

  • Strong passion for corporate partnerships and marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of corporate sales and or fundraising business development, marketing, sales, strategic alliances, or a related field; strong preference for non-profit experience in a chapter-based model
  • Excellent research and analytical skills to capitalize on opportunities
  • Experience in Salesforce or a similar platform for managing accounts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, sales, and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential donor/client/employee relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Better Business Bureau standards regarding charitable solicitations desired
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • High standards of ethics in conducting job-related activities
  • Team player with eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • Able to handle multiple projects under pressure

Work Environment:

  • Working in a home office, remote environment.
  • May require work in the evenings and on the weekends and outside of normal business hours. 
  • Some travel required within the United States, up to 30%.
