Position Summary

The Lead, Platform Engineer provides senior execution-oriented technical leadership within Guild's Platform Engineering & Developer Experience organization. The role is responsible for translating platform capability objectives and architectural direction into effective engineering execution across the IT Factory platform ecosystem.

Operating primarily within IT Factory, the Lead, Platform Engineer combines broad technical competency with hands-on engineering leadership to improve execution effectiveness, implementation consistency, and engineering predictability across Platform Engineering initiatives. The role works across software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, quality engineering, security, IAM, and related technical disciplines to identify execution constraints, remove technical blockers, reinforce implementation discipline, and improve engineering outcomes.

The Lead, Platform Engineer partners closely with Domain Architecture, Platform Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Platform Engineering leadership, DevOps, QA, Security, IAM, and adjacent delivery organizations to operationalize architectural direction, reinforce architectural continuity, and improve execution outcomes where upstream and downstream implementation dependencies exist. Within IT Factory, this role commonly fulfills the Technical Delivery Lead (TDL) responsibilities for platform engineering initiatives, providing execution leadership while remaining actively engaged in engineering implementation.

This role improves engineering effectiveness through technical leadership, implementation guidance, execution visibility, engineering mentorship, and disciplined engineering execution. The role does not own platform strategy, Enterprise Architecture governance, runtime platform operations, or personnel management responsibilities.

Compensation

This role is an exempt position with a targeted salary range of $144,001 to $210,601 annually.

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
