Join us to build a more rewarding financial future for all Canadians

At Neo, we’re on a mission to build a more rewarding financial future for all Canadians. Life at a rapidly scaling tech startup isn’t for everyone. It’s complex, fast-paced, high-pressure, but also incredibly fulfilling. Since its founding in 2019, Neo has gained incredible traction and is one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in Canada.

  • #1 on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 for 2023, 2024, and 2025the first company ever to achieve a three-peat at the top!

  • #1 Fastest Growing Company in Canada for 2024 by Globe & Mail

  • Top-ranked mobile apps and credit cards

  • Team of 500+ people

  • 1M+ customers

  • 10K+ retail partners

We’re looking for an Lead Product Designer & Design Systems Specialist to act as the connective tissue between design systems, product builds, and documentation.

Think of this role as the system connector:

  • Mapping design libraries to real product implementations

  • Keeping components, patterns, and templates aligned with how we actually build

  • Making sure our systems stay clean, scalable, and understandable as Neo moves fast

This role is not about designing new features end-to-end. It’s about maintaining operational excellence so designers and engineers can move faster with confidence.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, loves structure, and gets real satisfaction from things being done right.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Maintain and evolve Neo’s design systems, libraries, and shared templates.

  • Map system components to real product builds, ensuring consistency between design and implementation.

  • Own system documentation: patterns, usage guidelines, and source-of-truth references.

  • Partner closely with designers and engineers to keep systems aligned as products ship and evolve.

  • Audit screens, flows, and components to identify drift, gaps, or duplication.

  • Help operationalize how design work moves from concept → system → build.

  • Improve tooling, workflows, and conventions that help teams work faster and more consistently.

  • Act as a go-to connector across design, product, and engineering for system-related questions.

Who we’re looking for:
  • 2–4 years of experience in design systems, design ops, product ops, or a closely related role.

  • Exceptional organizational skills — you love cataloging, naming, and structuring information.

  • Strong comfort with design and documentation tools (Figma libraries, components, tokens, docs).

  • Systems thinker: you naturally see how parts connect and where things break down.

  • Clear communicator who can translate between design, product, and engineering.

  • Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger system.

  • Design background is a plus, but not required — tool fluency and systems thinking matter more.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
