Join a world-class marketing organization creating the best possible engagement experience for millions of members.
Humana is a $100+ billion, Fortune 50, healthcare leader dedicated to improving the health and well-being of some of the most vulnerable populations in the United States—seniors, people with disabilities, and lower-income Americans. Humana is uniquely positioned to transform healthcare delivery by making high-quality care more affordable, accessible, and secure through integrated healthcare services, innovative technology, and data-driven solutions.
In partnership with the Director, Product Management, you will own the product strategy portion of the product portfolio lifecycle—to include vision, strategy, discovery, roadmap, and value measurement—translating business needs into well-formed initiatives and partnering closely with engineering, analytics, and cross-functional teams to bring high-value use cases to life. You will also help mature the organization’s product operating model, establishing a unified approach that integrates diverse workstreams without threatening existing ownership structures.
To help deliver on this mission, we are seeking an experienced Lead Product Manager to own the end-to-end product for Next Best Action (NBA). This is a “builder” role responsible for driving the discovery, prioritization, and roadmap creation of NBA use cases that deliver the right action, to the right member, at the right time across digital, call center, and partner touchpoints.

Role Responsibilities
Discovery, Vision & Strategy
- Conduct product discovery, validating product direction and identifying the highest-value NBA use cases before committing to build.
- Define and communicate a compelling NBA product vision, strategy, and roadmap that translates multi-year business goals into an iterative, outcome-driven delivery plan.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis, understanding customer needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape, and using those insights to shape a differentiated experience.
- Possess strong business acumen—understanding overall business strategy and how the NBA product plans align— bridging the gap between high-level strategic planning and hands-on tactical execution.
Prioritization & Roadmap Creation
- Define, prioritize, and maintain the NBA product backlog, continuously refining and re-sequencing based on customer value, business impact, and changing priorities.
- Design initiatives and epics based on user needs and constraints, defining problem statements, features, value/benefit hypotheses, and the teams needed to deliver the work.
- Reviews the portfolio holistically and considers whether use cases remain relevant based on business strategy—making recommendations to maintain, invest in, or sunset them.
- Create well-defined product requirements with clear acceptance criteria, validating designs with stakeholders before build.
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-functional Leadership
- Engage stakeholders, proactively building relationships with key upstream and downstream stakeholders across Marketing, Digital, call center, IT, and insurance organizations.
- Facilitate regular, transparent communication, proactively identifying the needs and priorities of the audience and providing relevant information, including the decision-making criteria behind priorities.
- Act as a cross-functional leader, serving as the primary point of contact for product-related questions and decisions.
- Provide regular progress updates, demoing features, gathering feedback, and managing expectations to keep stakeholders aligned.
Value Measurement & Customer Advocacy
- Define success metrics and KPIs before build, and establish product analytics to measure adoption, usage, and business outcomes.
- Serve as the voice of the customer, understanding member pain points and using those insights to guide enhancements and achieve satisfaction.
- Use a data-informed approach to decision-making, iterating based on what is and isn’t working, and reporting value back to stakeholders.
- Translate outcomes into a compelling business case and customer story, identifying opportunities for enhancement and submitting idea canvases and business cases.
Leadership & Team Development
- Articulate a clear vision and roadmap, influencing others both directly and indirectly, and leading through partnership and influence without authority.
- Solve problems and make timely decisions, using independent judgment to analyze variable factors, navigate trade-offs, and determine the best course of action.
- Lead and manage change, recognizing the need for change, championing it, and helping others adapt.
Critical Success Factors
- User-focused: Builds what members and the business actually need—not what is simply technically interesting.
- Execution-oriented: Gets things done and doesn’t get stuck in planning; balances “perfect” against “good enough to launch and learn.”
- Business-value focus: Always connects work back to measurable business and member outcomes.
- Resilient and adaptable: Handles ambiguity, changing priorities, and setbacks, and leads others through uncertainty.
- Strong communicator: Communicates proactively so stakeholders are never surprised by delays or changes; leverages the broader team rather than working as a lone wolf.
