We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer specializing in Java and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to support and evolve the Subaru.com digital platform. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, focusing on building scalable, high-performing web applications using Java, AEM, and AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineering teams, and drive delivery across complex initiatives while ensuring platform reliability, performance, and modern engineering best practices.

 

Leadership & Platform Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design decisions aligned with enterprise standards and business goals.
  • Lead technical delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives, vendors and internal teams.
  • Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and enforce engineering quality standards.

 

Required Technical Skills

  • 8+ years' experience in Java programming, including concepts like Spring boot framework, multithreading, generics, collection and design patterns.
  • 4+ years' experience with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) on-prem or AEMaaCS.
  • 3+ years' experience with Cloud computing services. 
  • Understanding of microservice architecture patterns and best practices for building scalable, resilient, and maintainable applications on AWS.
  • Experience developing web applications and web services that interact with a variety of consumers including front-end web applications, mobile applications, and third-party clients.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to diagnose and resolve issues in Java applications deployed on AWS.
  • Experience with CSS, HTML5, JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, AJAX, ES5/6), and front-end frameworks (Vue.js, React)
  • Experience with build tools, such as Maven or Gradle

 

 Additional Preferred skills

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment, including story creation, estimation, backlog refinement, and sprint ceremonies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • 3+ years' experience with a AWS cloud computing services, not limited to the following: Ec2, Lambda, ECS, ECR (Docker), Elastic Beanstalk, VPC, CloudFormation, IAM, S3, SNS, SQS, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, load balancer
  • Experience with enterprise build automation tools such as GitHub Actions

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Office Location: Camden, NJ apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly)

Hybrid Role: Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days) [Wednesdays & Fridays]
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Compensation: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $115,700– $140,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
