The road to space would not be possible without Blue Origin's incredible talent. We currently have an opening for a Learning & Development Director that leads a team of learning professionals focused on creating effective learning and leadership development solutions. This role requires the ability to leverage data and feedback to develop and sustain effective talent development and learning programs. This leader must build strong relationships with business leaders and HR Business Partners. This leader will build programs that reinforce Blue Origin’s mission, leadership principles, and culture.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the aerospace industry, market trends, and business priorities to ensure leadership development and training initiatives are relevant and impactful.

  • Lead develop, and empower a high-performing team of professionals

  • Lead the design and implementation of key programs, including new employee experience, leadership development based in our leadership principles, skills development and just-in-time training

  • Define, implement, and report on learning metrics that demonstrate the efficacy of learning programs.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across all departments to ensure learning initiatives support the achievement of our overall business strategy.

  • Establish learning standards and governance to improve consistency and quality across Blue Origin's distributed learning teams.

  • Act as a change agent to drive individual and team behavior changes for business growth and goal achievement.

  • Support Talent Management in building a diverse pipeline of talent from early career to senior executive levels.

  • Partner with the legal team to ensure compliance training requirements are met. 

  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in learning & development, bringing innovative and practical solutions to our organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years’ experience in designing and implementing multi-modal learning solutions or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • 10+ years of experience assembling and leading high-performing teams 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration, change management, and project management skills

  • Strong analytical skills for understanding and interpreting data

  • Proven ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships 

  • Proven ability to work with senior leaders to define learning needs

  • Understanding of adult development and driving behavioral change

  • Ability to innovate and think creatively about learning solutions, technology, and adoption

  • Experience in building and delivering onboarding and leadership development programs

  • Working understanding of learning management systems  

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $182,450.00-$255,429.30

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.

  • Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
