Role Description

At Dropbox, we believe in creating a culture where learning fuels impact, growth is nonlinear, and every Dropboxer plays a role in building something meaningful. As a Learning Designer and Facilitator focused on learning and leadership development across Dropbox, you’ll support the evolution of how we grow our people in a Virtual First environment. You will play a crucial role in areas such as program design, facilitation of scalable and inclusive learning experiences, curriculum evaluation and iteration, and management of Dropbox’s coaching program.

Your work will include collaborating with cross-functional partners and designing learner-centered experiences. You’ll get to shape high-impact development experiences that reach managers and ICs across Dropbox, drive measurable behavior change, and help create a learning culture rooted in reflection, curiosity, and experimentation. You’ll play a key role in the ongoing strategy of learning at Dropbox.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver modern, learner-centered experiences rooted in instructional design best practices and Dropbox values.
  • Design and facilitate engaging workshops across virtual and in-person formats for audiences at all levels.
  • Consult with business leaders to develop custom learning or organizational development solutions that address team or function-specific challenges.
  • Evaluate and iterate on learning programs using feedback, behavior change data, and impact metrics.
  • Bring a spirit of innovation and curiosity to learning design—experimenting with new formats, tools (including AI), and methods to enhance the learner experience.
  • Design senior leadership programs that align to Dropbox’s learning philosophy and approach.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field (e.g., Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Education).
  • At least 8 years of experience in instructional design, facilitation, or leadership development within a corporate or high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design models, and behavior change principles.
  • Strong facilitation skills across virtual and in-person environments, with comfort engaging diverse audiences.
  • Ability to evaluate program effectiveness using feedback and data, and make evidence-based improvements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, Virtual First environment.
  • Experience integrating AI tools to enhance efficiency, personalization, or insight generation in L&D or operational contexts.
  • Proven success applying HR as a product approaches to program design, with a focus on driving learner outcomes and operational excellence.
  • Comfort with UX/design thinking principles to co-create, test, and refine learner-centric experiences in fast-moving, data-informed environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Organizational development experience.
  • Coaching certification or experience partnering with executive coaches or coaching vendors.
  • Experience with learning technologies and authoring tools (e.g., LMS platforms, Articulate, Miro, AI-powered learning tools like Synthesia or Sana).
  • Experience working in a tech-forward or hybrid/Virtual First organization.

Though remote is our primary way of working, meaningful in-person connection and collaboration is a critical part of Virtual First. Our Seattle Studio is a place for teams to come together to host meetings, off-sites, and build community.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
