The Community You Will Join: 

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Product & Marketing Legal Team. You will be responsible for creating and improving processes, maintaining records, conducting legal research, creating presentation decks, and communicating across the team. You will build internal legal knowledge management and operational processes, supporting the legal team in driving operational excellence. You will also support special projects and commercial contracts. You are resourceful, a fast learner, able to handle ambiguity, willing to jump in and help with a variety of initiatives, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

The Difference You Will Make:

This role will report to the Associate General Counsel for Product / Airbnb.org, but will have responsibility for supporting various members across the Product & Marketing Legal Team, which counsels product, marketing, communications, community, Airbnb.org and other social impact, engineering, data science, operations, trust & safety, customer service, insurance and other internal client teams across the company.

A Typical Day: 

  • Develop and improve processes to help drive operational efficiency, including processes for legal intake and review
  • Improve and scale knowledge management systems, including maintenance of records, forms, and templates 
  • Support internal legal operations workflows and team collaboration for various legal areas
  • Develop expertise in a range of Airbnb functional areas and processes, and build relationships with both business stakeholders and the broader Legal team
  • Provide general project support to the team as needed, such as conducting legal research, managing standard regulatory filings, drafting simple commercial agreements and templates, helping manage budgets, developing presentation decks, etc.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Candidates with a strong interest in the law (and possibly going to law school), and gaining exposure to in-house legal work, are most likely to find this role fulfilling. Prior experience working at a law firm, in-house legal department or tech company is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly shifting priorities 
  • Find new challenges exciting, and happy learning in situations where every day is different 
  • “No job is too big or too small” approach to work
  • Proactive, resourceful self-starter with the ability to identify where support is needed, and work independently while exercising good judgment on when to seek guidance from managing attorneys and legal professionals 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to efficiently prioritize and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure, while maintaining excellent results and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and/or ability to quickly learn and use new software tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented spirit 
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, curiosity and desire to grow

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
