The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and deploying email and SMS campaigns, a strong understanding of lifecycle marketing strategies, and a passion for using data and testing to improve customer engagement and lifetime value.

Reporting to the Lifecycle Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in bringing lifecycle strategies to life across email, SMS, direct mail, and other owned channels. This role is critical to ensuring campaigns are executed with precision, optimized through testing and performance insights, and aligned with the customer journey.

You will work closely with cross-functional partners across creative, merchandising, and marketing to deliver thoughtful, personalized communications that deepen customer relationships, drive repeat purchases, and support the long-term growth of the business.

We are looking for someone who…

  • Is exceptional at execution. You take ownership of your work, proactively solve problems, and consistently deliver high-quality campaigns.
  • Is data-driven. You use performance insights to optimize campaigns, identify trends, and improve engagement and repeat purchase behavior.
  • Is a creative tester. You enjoy experimenting with subject lines, messaging, segmentation, and timing to discover what resonates most with customers.
  • Is detail-oriented. You ensure campaigns are accurate, on brand, and launched on time through careful QA and strong organization.
  • Is collaborative. You work closely with creative, merchandising, and marketing partners to deliver cohesive, customer-focused communications.
  • Is hands-on. You enjoy building campaigns in Klaviyo, managing the calendar, analyzing performance, and continuously improving lifecycle programs.
  • Is curious and growth-oriented. You are motivated to learn, experiment, and evolve lifecycle strategies over time.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Customer Editorial Calendar Management

  • Partner with the Retention Marketing Manager to maintain the customer editorial calendar, ensuring all campaigns, automations, and promotions are planned and executed on schedule.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align creative, product, and marketing resources with the calendar.
  • Track deadlines, dependencies, and priorities to ensure campaigns launch as planned.
  • Proactively flag conflicts, delays, or missing assets and propose solutions to keep the calendar on track.

Campaign & Automation Execution

  • Build, QA, and deploy email and SMS campaigns and automated flows in Klaviyo with precision and timeliness.
  • Maintain high standards for deliverability, brand consistency, and lifecycle alignment.
  • Ensure campaigns are executed according to strategic goals, with accurate segmentation and personalization.

Optimization & Testing

  • Develop and test subject lines, preview text, creative, and timing to maximize engagement and revenue.
  • Use performance insights to iterate campaigns, flows, and lifecycle programs.
  • Leverage AI tools and other resources to scale idea generation, testing, and optimization efforts.

Creative Collaboration

  • Translate marketing strategy into actionable creative briefs with clear guidance for internal and external teams.
  • Provide feedback grounded in performance data, ensuring creative output aligns with brand voice and lifecycle objectives.
  • Partner closely with creative and content teams to implement campaigns efficiently and effectively.

Audience & Segmentation Strategy

  • Support segmentation, targeting, and personalization strategies using customer behavior, engagement signals, and lifecycle stage insights.
  • Recommend refinements to audience frameworks to improve relevance, scalability, and performance.
  • Apply RFM segmentation and other audience targeting strategies to maximize engagement and revenue

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Monitor campaign performance and generate insights to inform messaging, targeting, and creative decisions.
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting on KPIs including open rates, CTRs, CVRs, unsubscribes, AOV, and revenue contribution.
Experience
  • 3–5 years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing
  • Klaviyo expert with hands-on experience building and deploying campaigns and automations
  • Experience leveraging RFM segmentation and other advanced audience strategies
  • Proven ownership of briefing, execution, and reporting processes
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially with creative teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong accountability and follow-through
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced ecommerce environment
Preferred but not required:
  • Experience in DTC ecommerce, apparel, or consumer brands.
  • Familiarity with lifecycle metrics such as LTV, cohort analysis, or segmentation strategy.
  • Experience implementing structured testing frameworks and performance optimization processes.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
