Analyze and enhance multilingual data quality, collaborate on language parsers, translate taxonomies, and maintain databases.

As a Data Analyst on our Linguistics team, you’ll leverage your language expertise to support the development and refinement of language data across our products. Your fluency will directly impact how specific languages are represented and maintained within Lightcast’s global platform. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping linguistic features, driving quality standards, and enhancing product functionality.
This is a full-time contract role with the potential to transition into a W-2 employee position based on performance and business needs. It’s a unique opportunity to influence the evolution of language data on a global scale while contributing to cutting-edge technology.
Major Responsibilities:
- Analyze and enhance the data quality of multilingual text classifiers
- Collaborate with linguistics and engineering teams to develop and optimize language parsers
- Translate and align taxonomies across multiple languages, including Skills, Titles, and Occupations
- Create crosswalks from source language skills and job titles to Lightcast’s standardized taxonomies
- Utilize SQL for efficient data handling, querying, and database management
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, NLP, or a related field (preferred)
- Strong linguistics knowledge, including syntax and structural analysis of languages
- Competency in three or more languages — strong preference given to candidates fluent in Danish, Croatian, and Czech
- Knowledge of multinational labor markets (preferred)
- Experience with data analysis using tools such as Excel or Python
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups, data cleanup, and functions
- Knowledge of query languages such as SQL
- Familiarity with text analysis or machine learning principles
- Knowledge of RegEx
