About XBOW:

At XBOW, we’re redefining the future of cybersecurity by building the world's first autonomous pentester, powered by AI. Today, the gold standard for securing software systems is human pentesters, but with the rise of artificial intelligence, we’re stepping up to scale offensive security to meet the ever-growing demand.

AI is transforming the landscape of both cybersecurity and cyberattacks. While millions of people without security expertise are creating software, bad actors are using AI to launch more effective attacks. XBOW fights back with AI-driven superpowers, enabling security teams to stay one step ahead.

Backed by Sequoia Capital and Altimeter, and a team that includes the creators of GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security, XBOW is not just keeping up with the times—we’re shaping the future of cybersecurity. Our mission is simple: to defeat the bad actors before they strike, using AI to revolutionize how we approach offensive security.

We’re building something that must be built, and we’re the team to do it. Join us in shaping the next frontier of autonomous security.

Your Role:

XBOW is looking for a Localization Specialist to build and scale a world-class localization program across product, marketing, and communications. This is a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for ensuring that XBOW feels native, trustworthy, and technically precise across languages and regions.

This role is about more than translation. You’ll help define how XBOW’s product, research, and brand narratives travel globally, while building the systems and workflows that allow the company to ship multilingual content and experiences quickly and consistently.

As one of the earliest localization hires, you’ll set standards, select tools, establish workflows, and partner cross-functionally to integrate localization into how XBOW builds and launches.

What You’ll Do:

Localization Strategy & Program Ownership

  • Execute XBOW’s localization strategy and across web, documentation, campaigns, and communications.

  • Define localization priorities and sequencing by market impact, customer needs, and business objectives.

  • Help establish foundational localization systems: style guides, glossaries, terminology management, and translation memory practices.

  • Build operating rhythms that ensure localization is proactive and embedded in the company’s workflows, not bolted on at the end.

Content, Brand & Comms Localization

  • Partner with Marketing, Creative, and AR/PR to localize brand narratives, product launches, research releases, and ongoing campaigns.

  • Guide transcreation for high-impact storytelling moments where literal translation would lose meaning, clarity, or edge.

  • Ensure consistency of voice, tone, and messaging across channels and regions.

  • Build a localization process that supports fast-moving campaigns and launch cycles without sacrificing quality.

Tools, Workflows & Vendor Management

  • Evaluate and implement localization tooling (TMS, QA automation, glossary and style systems, collaboration workflows).

  • Build and manage a network of translation and localization partners (vendors, agencies, freelancers) aligned with XBOW’s technical domain and quality bar.

  • Create efficient review workflows with internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts.

  • Establish scalable processes for content intake, prioritization, turnaround, and approval.

Quality, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track localization performance metrics: quality, turnaround time, cost efficiency, rework rate, and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Build feedback loops and quality programs that continuously improve output and reduce translation friction over time.

  • Identify upstream content issues that create localization risk, and partner with teams to improve source content quality.

  • Establish standards for what “excellent” looks like and raise the bar across the organization.

Bonus if you have:
  • Experience with i18n engineering best practices and product localization workflows (string management, release pipelines).

  • Familiarity with security terminology and working with technical subject-matter experts.

  • Experience supporting global expansion and multi-region GTM programs.

What We Offer:
  • Compensation & Equity: Competitive salary, clear performance-based incentives, and equity package, making you an integral part of XBOW’s growth story.

  • Career Growth: Significant opportunities to progress within the sales organization and shape your career trajectory as we scale.

  • Meaningful Work: You’ll directly impact XBOW’s mission to revolutionize cybersecurity and protect organizations worldwide.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
