Job Overview:
The M&A Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing the firm's M&A business development strategy. This role is accountable for building and managing the acquisition pipeline, establishing outreach strategies, and developing relationships with prospective acquisition targets.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for sourcing and building a robust M&A acquisition pipeline.
  • Design and oversee outreach approaches, including research, targeted communications, and relationship building efforts.
  • Conduct introductory and exploratory discussions with prospective acquisition targets to assess interest and alignment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with firm leadership and external prospects to facilitate introductions and deal flow.
  • Track pipeline activity, progress, and outcomes using CRM platforms and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Partner with Corporate Development leadership to escalate qualified opportunities and support deal progression.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field required.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a business development or relationship driven role.
    • One (1) or more years of experience in professional services.
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven relationship building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across organizational levels.
  • Strategic mindset paired with strong execution focus.
  • Comfort operating in a fastpaced, growthoriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $129,000-$174,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.
Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
