The Position:

Absorb is seeking a dynamic Manager, Business Development to lead and develop our team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) as we continue to grow our outbound sales motion. As our business continues to grow, we are adding an additional manager to support team expansion, improve operational efficiency, and ensure we can successfully scale for future growth. As BDR Manager at Absorb LMS, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining and scaling a high-performing outbound team. Reporting directly to our hands-on VP of Business Development, you'll lead by example—motivating reps, fine-tuning talk tracks, and driving results through targeted outreach and strategic prospecting. Leveraging your management skills and sales expertise to mentor your team to spark interest with prospects, and showcase the value of our Learning Management Solution.

This is a growth position created to support an expanding team, increasing business demand, and ongoing investments in operational excellence. We’re looking for someone who thrives on coaching and development, takes pride in execution, and balances a strong sense of initiative with deep respect for leadership and team collaboration. You should have a genuine love for cold calling, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to guide your team through complex and highly specific outbound campaigns. You’ll be responsible for adopting and optimizing a robust prospecting framework, executing multi-touch campaigns, enhancing pre-call planning processes, and hands-on management needed to exceed sales quotas and drive new bookings.

What you'll do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing outbound BDRs in a collaborative, feedback-rich environment.

  • Embrace and champion a culture of coaching—reviewing talk tracks, emails, and messaging strategies regularly.

  • Partner closely with a hands-on VP who leads alongside managers—not from the sidelines.

  • Own and improve prospecting workflows and outbound campaigns designed to target specific customer profiles, and demonstrating creativity in prospecting.

  • Ensure consistent execution and follow-through on campaign objectives, with tight attention to detail.

  • Foster a culture of curiosity and accountability—encouraging your team to take ownership, but never work in silos.

  • Provide regular, actionable feedback to your team—and ask for feedback and new challenges from your leadership.

  • Monitor and drive daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to ensure performance alignment and goal attainment.

  • Ensure the team effectively communicates the Absorb value proposition to new prospects.

  • Guide the team in qualifying outbound leads against defined criteria to meet pipeline goals and drive overall sales success.

  • Partner with leadership to support a growing organization by scaling processes, driving operational efficiencies, and building a high-performing team capable of supporting future growth.

  • Develop and execute strategic call plans and account plans, collaborating with the account team for collective success.

What you'll bring:
Minimum Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related sales role, with at least 1-2 years in a management/coaching position.

  • Proven ability to lead a team, demonstrating strong motivational and coaching skills.

  • Passion for outbound selling, cold calling, and helping reps get better every day.

  • Intellectual curiosity, humility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Welcomes feedback, acts on it thoughtfully, leads with integrity/accountability/transparency.

  • High coachability and a strong respect for leadership collaboration.

  • Track record of balancing execution with strategic thinking. Proactive approach managing, asking for help, and taking initiative.

  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong follow-through.

  • Comfortable working in fast-moving environments where priorities can shift.

  • Proficient in conducting detailed data analyses and using metrics to drive business results.

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Interested in long-term career opportunities in SaaS sales.

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with Sales Engagement tools (Outreach, SalesLoft, Salesforce, Gong, 6sense)

  • Familiarity with Sales Prospecting tools (ZoomInfo, UserGems, Lusha, Cognism)

  • Understanding of sales process and qualifying such as MEDDPICC, BANT, SPIN, Challenger

Technologies we use:

  • Absorb LMS, Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Gong, Teams, ChiliPiper, Sendoso, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Orum, Dubb, GTM Buddy, etc..
