Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Logistics Engineer to fill the Fleet Management Technical Lead role in supporting long-term sustainment operations for the F-35 program. This role will facilitate strategic projects and develop readiness forecast reports of delivered F-35 aircraft for US military services and international partners as a member of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company's Fleet Optimization Team. This position is focused on a strategic view of optimizing aircraft availability, lifecycle performance, and global fleet readiness through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration. The Technical Lead will be responsible for leading and developing staff through mentoring, coaching, and training. You will support the broader BAE Systems enterprise and will represent the company at national/international working group meetings, conferences, and customer site visits.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the BAE personnel assigned to the Fleet Management team, to include travel budget requirements and projection of man-hours
  • Analyze fleet performance data to project strategic readiness, reliability, and availability
  • Support lifecycle sustainment planning and cost forecasting
  • Coordinate across maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams
  • Track and report KPIs such as mission capable rates and repair timelines
  • Develop strategies to improve fleet efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Support configuration and technical baseline management
  • Identify supply chain risks and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, reports, and quarterly contract deliverables
  • Collaborate with domestic and international partners and government personnel

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Logistics, Business or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or sustainment operations
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Experience working in a highly complex and politically sensitive environment
  • Robust communication skills are required both internally and externally
  • Able to perform at a high level in executive meetings involving customer and LM leadership
  • Self-starter and capable of working independently with minimal guidance
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Products; Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with F-35 aircraft sustainment or military aviation programs
  • Experience with predictive or condition-based maintenance
  • Experience working with DoD customers
  • Familiar with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Technology Assistance Agreements (TAA)

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
