About the Role 

We are seeking a client-focused and tech-savvy Manager, Insurance Compliance to take ownership of insurance compliance for GSE and/or HUD lender accounts. This individual contributor role is designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of risk expertise and service delivery, managing large loan books with precision while leveraging innovative tools to streamline compliance. 

A key requirement for this role is a candidate who is passionate about technology-driven innovation in the insurance space and excited to work alongside product and engineering teams to shape the future of compliance automation. 

At the core of our delivery model is our proprietary compliance automation platform, and this role is expected to operate within that platform daily maintaining data accuracy, surfacing exceptions, and optimizing workflows. The ideal candidate will be eager to use technology not only as a tool but as a key enabler of operational excellence and client impact. 


Key Responsibilities 

Portfolio Ownership 

  • Serve as the compliance lead for a designated portfolio of loans from key GSE and/or HUD lenders. 
  • Conduct timely and accurate insurance reviews using our automated compliance platform. 
  • Maintain up-to-date insurance records, flag and resolve exceptions, and ensure clean data in real time. 

Technology-Enabled Delivery 

  • Utilize our compliance platform to manage document tracking, risk triage, exception workflows, and client reporting. 
  • Ensure that the platform reflects current portfolio and insurance statuses through disciplined data management. 
  • Identify system improvements or edge cases and partner with Product & Engineering to enhance automation logic and UI/UX. 

Client-Facing Compliance Support 

  • Act as the front-line compliance contact for 1-2 strategic client accounts. 
  • Provide thoughtful guidance on insurance acceptability, investor requirements, and exception resolution. 
  • Deliver risk summaries, reporting, and strategic recommendations backed by system data and policy interpretation. 

Compliance Expertise 

  • Apply Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD servicing insurance guidelines to real-time compliance decisions. 
  • Stay informed on investor updates and communicate relevant impacts to clients and internal teams. 
  • Document decisions and actions clearly within the system and client-facing logs. 


Career Growth Path 

  • This role is built to evolve into Senior Manager, depending on performance and business needs. Advancement may include: 
  • Expanding ownership across client portfolios or verticals 
  • Leading strategic initiatives to scale client delivery 
  • Shaping platform strategy through subject-matter input 
  • Potentially mentoring junior ICs or shaping team structure over time 


Qualifications 

Required: 

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance compliance, mortgage servicing, or risk functions. 
  • In-depth knowledge of GSE and/or HUD servicing insurance requirements (Multi-Family, Healthcare, Construction). 
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of managing collateral- or loan-level compliance accurately and efficiently. 
  • Comfort working inside SaaS tools or platforms - updating records, generating reports, and working through automated workflows. 
  • A mindset that embraces process, quality, and continuous improvement. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience working with or implementing insurtech or fintech systems. 
  • Understanding of lender-placed insurance workflows and collateral risk management. 
  • Familiarity with multifamily or CRE portfolios.
