We exist for workers and their employers -- who are the backbone of our economy.  That is where Centivo comes in -- our mission is to bring affordable, high-quality healthcare to the millions who struggle to pay their healthcare bills.

The Manager, Marketing Communications & Automation is responsible for executing and optimizing communications for Centivo health plan members, Centivo Care patients and employer clients. This role will help manage day-to-day campaigns, support automated communication journeys, and ensure members and patients receive clear, timely and engaging communications throughout their healthcare experience.

In addition, this role will help the Marketing team effectively leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and other emerging technologies to improve content development, campaign optimization, and marketing workflows. This role is well-suited for someone already using AI tools as part of their day-to-day work, not just someone open to learning them.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both running marketing communications programs and experimenting with new tools that make marketing teams more efficient and effective.

Responsibilities include:

Member and patient communications

  • Manage ongoing communications to Centivo health plan members and Centivo Care patients across email, in app messaging, SMS and other channels

  • Execute campaigns that support the full member and patient journey including onboarding, care engagement, referrals, preventive care, and ongoing education

  • Collaborate with internal teams including product, clinical operations, client success, and compliance to ensure communications are accurate and aligned with the member experience

  • Translate complex healthcare and benefits concepts into clear, engaging communications for members and patients

  • Communications supporting Centivo Care growth

AI enablement for marketing communications

  • Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and similar platforms to assist with marketing communications development, campaign planning, and workflow efficiency

  • Identify opportunities where AI tools can help streamline content creation, campaign testing, and marketing processes

  • Help introduce and document practical AI workflows that can be used by the broader marketing team

  • Stay current on emerging AI tools relevant to marketing communications and share insights with the team

Marketing automation and lifecycle communications

  • Help manage automated communication journeys across marketing platforms including triggered and lifecycle campaigns

  • Monitor campaign performance and help optimize communications to improve engagement and member experience

  • Work with marketing operations and product teams to identify opportunities for new automation across the member and patient journey

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, marketing communications, digital marketing, or a related field

  • Experience in healthcare, health insurance, employee benefits, or healthcare technology

  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Iterable, or similar tools, including hands-on execution of email campaigns, automated communication journeys, and lifecycle marketing programs.

  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear and engaging communications

  • Demonstrated experience building or documenting AI-assisted workflows for content creation, campaign operations, or marketing processes

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally with teams including product, operations, and leadership

Centivo Values:

  • Resilient – This is wicked hard. There is no easy button for healthcare affordability. Luckily, the mission makes it worth it and sustains us when things are tough. Being resilient ensures we don’t give up.

  • Uncommon - The status quo stinks so we had to go out and build something better. We know the healthcare system. It isn't working for members, employers, and providers. So we're building it from scratch, from the ground up. Our focus is on making things better for them while also improving clinical results - which is bold and uncommon.

  • Positive – We care about each other. It takes energy to do hard stuff, build something better and to be resilient and unconventional while doing it. Because of that, we make sure we give kudos freely and feedback with care. When our tank gets low, a team member is there to be a source of new energy. We celebrate together. We are supportive, generous, humble, and positive.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
